Today at #SABCS25, we spoke with Anna Wassman-Cox, founder of Onco-Ballet (@oncoballet), who shared how movement was vital through her two breast cancer diagnoses and how research continues to show the importance of exercise. She also shared her passion for improving care for fellow Asian American patients. With Asian American women now representing the largest group of breast cancer patients under 40, research and representation have never been more important.

"It's so important to always have advocates involved because it allows us to ask those questions to researchers like 'how will this help?'" - Komen patient advocate Bob Ritter shares his thoughts on all the research updates coming from @sabreastcancersymposium #SABCS

Clinical trials aren’t a last resort — they’re a proactive choice. With data showing 35–40% improved outcomes, participation can start early, even for those without a diagnosis but considered high risk, while helping advance care for future patients. As Dr. Alison Stopeck shared during #SABCS, joining a clinical trial is a moment of agency — becoming a superhero for tomorrow’s cures. 🎥 Click the link in our bio to watch the full conversation.

Last Day at the @sabreastcancersymposium! Come visit us at the @my_faulty_gene booth until 3pm. We’d love to meet you! I am so excited to share some of the research and patient organization/resources that I’ve had the opportunity to learn about & connect with this week. Heading home tonight—and can’t wait to share more! #hereditarycancer #sabcs #genetictesting #breastcancer

SABCS with @drsusanlovefoundation There is so much to unpack from my first experience at SABCS and while I take the time to do that I am also thinking about how grateful I am for @meeshpauline , @allieco_xo and @amazingmendoza of the @drsusanlovefoundation It’s been said that if you want to go fast, go alone but if you want to go far, go together. This may come as a surprise (or it may not) but a lot of the established foundations and organizations don’t go out of their way to help us younger orgs. There is a lot of gate keeping and protecting of contacts and resources. The team at the @drsusanlovefoundation couldn’t be farther from that. They don’t gatekeep, they hold the door wide open. All week they made introductions to contacts they have cultivated over years, showed us the ropes, helped us set meetings and invited us to advocacy dinners. I would have felt 🤯 if it weren’t for them! They also did what NO ONE else has done, they invited us advocates into their huge meetings. They didn’t tell us what to say, they genuinely wanted us there and for our voices and experiences to be heard by the companies and organizations that serve us. They are true leaders and mentors to me for the way they have a true abundance mindset and want us all to win. This was the true epitome of collaboration over competition and I’m so inspired and grateful 🥹🫶

What if AI data review could change the future of breast cancer?! At SABCS, new data from the TAILORx trial showed how artificial intelligence may improve how we predict breast cancer recurrence for early-stage, hormone-positive patients. By integrating routine pathology images with molecular and clinical data, this AI model outperformed the standard Oncotype DX score — especially when it came to identifying late recurrence risk years after treatment. COMMENT “TRIAL” And I’ll send you the update summary. @bcrfcure also did a great breakdown of this update! As a breast cancer survivor and patient advocate, I’m cautious about AI hype. But this research stood out because it focuses on reducing harm: fewer people being overtreated, more confidence in treatment decisions, and better long-term planning for survivorship. This isn’t ready for clinics yet — but it’s a powerful example of how AI can be used thoughtfully to personalize care, not replace clinicians. Would you want AI involved if it meant fewer people getting unnecessary chemo? ➡️ Follow @mycancerchic for survivor-friendly breakdowns of breast cancer research and real-world impact 🩷
