Some say it’s not the same but it’s nostalgic, still great, and so strange…. It really didn’t suck. And you have to try it at least once! Original, spicy, or get the tender beef sandwich! Todd Stacy and family are doing a great job!!! Then we hit @cappys_seafood next door! We had the “Willow Plate” a seafood platter the size of a car and of course the fried dough! 📍Clam Shack & Holy Cow - Salem Willows MA Summer has officially begun now that The Clam Shack is open! This is our favorite spot for lobster rolls and clam strips! They have the BEST tartar sauce, it has chopped dill pickles 🤤 After our meal we had to stop at Holy Cow! We tried Corner Piece and wow… it was the best chocolate ice cream I’ve ever had. I’m not typically a chocolate gal, but the brown butter chocolate ice cream with the crunchy brownies has changed me! We can’t wait to try their new Pistachio Baklava flavor next! Salem Willows. Where witches fly and clams fry! We love coming to this 200 year old park in Salem to enjoy the lobster rolls from the clam shack, the games from the arcade, the treats from EW Hobbs, the sea air and giant old willows. 40 minutes north of Boston is one of our favorite summer places. If you haven’t visited the Willows, add it to your list! Also home of the famous Chop Suey sandwich. The Salem Lowe closed last year but new owners are set to revive it soon! The Clam Shack at Salem Willows is one of our go-to weeknight dinner spots every summer! 🌊☀️ Grabbed steamers, shrimp, and a burger this time—but the fried clams and lobster roll are always great too. Dead Horse Beach is one of the larger sandy beaches at the Salem Willows and is publicly accessible year-round. It faces Beverly harbor and can be a nice place to sun, swim, and begin kayaking trips, at least when it isn’t low tide or the wind isn’t sweeping away most of the sand, or it isn’t overcrowded. (Also, you can rent a kayak down at the Salem Willows Yacht Club). But was it actually where people buried their dead horses? Local legend says yes; in the 1850s, this was referred to as “Horse Beach” by residents who deemed it far enough away to bury their horses. In January, it’s also where residents come to burn their Christmas trees at the annual Christmas Tree Bonfire. I know a lot of residents prefer Waikiki Beach but I found it a nice place to stop when it was hot as 🏀 yesterday. #salemma #salem #salemwillows #deadhorsebeach #beaches #northshorema
