✨ You’ve just arrived in Santa Fe, New Mexico — what do you do first? Be sure to follow along with me @hello_mallory as I post my “Just Arrived” series featuring all of my favorite towns across the Southwest. One of the most culturally rich cities in the Southwest — where history, art, and food all collide. These are my top picks for a first visit: 1️⃣ Sunset at Cross of the Martyrs — short walk, panoramic views, and one of the best sunsets in the city 2️⃣ IAIA Museum of Contemporary Native Arts — powerful exhibits + one of my favorite photo spots 3️⃣ Coffee from Fusion Delicias — the pink coffee shop that’s just as fun as it looks 4️⃣ Bandelier National Monument — cliff dwellings, ladders, and canyon trails (easy half-day trip) 5️⃣ Loretto Chapel — the miraculous staircase that still sparks debate of how it originated 6️⃣ Oldest house in the U.S. — quick stop on De Vargas St + don’t miss San Miguel Chapel next door, the oldest church in the USA 7️⃣ Santa Fe Plaza — shops, galleries, people-watching + wander side streets for the colorful doors — I seriously could do this an entire day. Historic downtown Santa Fe is so walkable and fun. Be sure to keep an eye out for the beautiful doorways. 8️⃣ Kakawa Chocolate House — truffles + drinking chocolate (don’t skip this) — The lavender vanilla truffle with rose almond chilly hot chocolate were my favorite 9️⃣ Tomasita’s — margarita flights + a Santa Fe classic. My flight was a sangria swirl, mango chili, and Midori. Food recs: Tomasita’s, La Choza, The Pantry, Casa Chimayo, and a blue corn blueberry lavender donut from Whoo’s Donuts. 🚫 And yes… I know you probably expected me to include Meow Wolf. I’m going to be honest — it just wasn’t for me. It felt overstimulating, dirty, and chaotic, and I’d personally prioritize everything above before spending time there. I likely won’t go back, but had there been a quarter of the people, it would’ve been more enjoyable. Have you been to Santa Fe? What would you add or skip? ✨ #santafe #newmexico #southwesttravel #visitsantafe #southwestroadtrip
