Mother…… 2nd year doing this mothering work and it is the most exhausting,mentally draining , time and finance sapping job I have ever done …. LOVE will always be the greatest purifier. Not my techniques, not my methods, but the essence and overflow of my heart towards my kids. I have enough sources picking apart my little one on a daily basis - He doesn’t need a critic and a judge in me. He needs a present, strong, gracious, patient father who exemplifies how to be a powerful and compassionate human in today’s world. Most of my frustration with him is really a reflection of guilt and past disappointments with myself. I’ve participated in a lot of work in letting Jesus and His love heal the ‘little boy’ inside of me. As His love washes over me, I’m then able to pour that love into Maverick. He doesn’t need reminders of how bad and frustrating he is…the world will do plenty of that. He needs reminders of how GOOD he is and how much he’s LOVED. Light will always triumph over darkness.
