How to Study Well (as a busy learner) 📚 I’ve always wanted to balance work and studying, even though my job became much busier after I graduated. Because of that, I shifted from hesitating to use AI to actively leveraging AI to make the most of my study time. After discovering Scholarly, I let the app generate all of my French learning materials into flashcards and quizzes, I just need to open it and start studying 📚😊 #studygramcommunity #studygramuk #unistudent #studyinspo #scholarly

The drama queen is ready to face the week ahead because we're soooo close to the finish line for this term! 💪😁 Here are some tips to help you #StudySmart: 📚 Study, don't cram. 2. Divide it up by studying in chunks instead of grueling long sessions. 3. Avoid multitasking. Focus on one subject at a time. 4. Get Organized by making a plan for what you’re going to do and when you’re going to do it. ⏰ Set a schedule that works for you, and stick to it. 6. Manage your study space to maximize your productivity, away from the television and other distractions. 7. Take notes instead of reading the entire textbook, try the active recall method or flashcards. 8. Find a study group to go over confusing class material or prepare for a big test. 🙋🏽♀️ Ask questions from a teacher, a tutor or your friends. 10. Eat well and sleep well to sharpen your focus and improve your working memory. #StudentLife #studyinspiration #studyspo #scholar #Scholarly #scholarship #academic #academia #AcademicJourney #collegelife #unilife #undergrad #postgrad #PhD

How to study 20 chapters in ONE day? Yes, it’s possible—here’s how I did it with 3 powerful methods! 👇 1️⃣ Pomodoro Technique: Study for 25 minutes, take a 5-minute break, and repeat. It keeps your brain fresh and focused without burning out. 2️⃣ Mind Mapping: Turn complicated chapters into simple visuals by drawing connections between key ideas. It’s a great way to organize information and remember it better. 3️⃣ Practice Quizzes (my favorite!): I used Scholarly.so to generate quizzes with correct answers. It helped me test myself, understand what I got wrong, and learn from my mistakes fast. Quizzing is a GAME CHANGER for retaining information! ✅ Testing yourself while studying is the key to learning deeply and actually remembering what you studied. Which of these methods will you try next? Let me know in the comments! 👇 . . . . . . . . . #scholarly #studywithme #school #studytips #student #studygram #explore #viral

After a whole year of late nights, coding marathons, and endless iterations, I’m so excited to finally share the startup I’ve been building: Scholarly! College apps can be stressful and intimidating, but they’re also a rare opportunity for reflection and creativity. I am so consistently inspired by how infinitely creative people can be within the confines of a single application. I hope others will be as inspired as I am, and know that they don’t have to approach the process alone. With Scholarly, anyone can have an “in”. This journey has given me so much purpose already—I can’t wait to see where it leads and how many lives we can touch. I’m deeply grateful to everyone who supported me along the way, and to our amazing scholars who share this vision. You can see for yourself at www.startscholarly.com and let me know what you think! #LaunchDay #Scholarly #CollegeApps #startup #startscholarly

Asking for lots of monies! 💰⬇️ This was my first big grant application. I have applied for smaller research grants before but nothing at this scale... This is the only grant I am applying for post-PhD. I am interested in working in industry and it's not typical to bring your own funding and projects. So why did I do this? The purpose of this grant call is to fund the project of future leaders in the field. It's a grant for a project hosted by non-academic organisations, for 4+ years of research. I will be able (if successful) to start my own Research and Development division in the company, focusing on brain imaging. And that's just too cool of a potential.opportunity to pass! 🧠 There's a long way to go. The success rate is pretty low. And the results will only be available in summer 2026. It's crazy how long grants take to write and get. And academics do this their whole life. I have so much respect. I would lose my mind if I had to do it again. Funnily enough I didn't even apply for as much money as other neuroscience-based projects typically apply for. Since the project I proposed is computational, I didn't have to budget for expensive materials. So how much is a lot of money for a computational project but not as much money in a general field of neuroscience? I applied for ~half a million (GBP) which should comfortably cover the full project. This was very emotional. I was more nervous than when submitting my PhD thesis and even more nervous than I was moments before my PhD defense. 🥲 But I am very proud of getting this done! Wish me luck! 🤞🏼 🎥 I am hoping the quality of the application is better than the quality of this video. 🫠 #writing #writingtips #scholar #scholarly #academia #academic #academicwriting #application #motivation #career #careerprogression #psychiatry #neuroscience #neurology #phdstudent #phdviva #phddone #researcher #research #scientist #womeninstem #womenintech #postphd #phdlifestyle #phdlife #gradschoolproblems #gradschool #gradstudentstruggles #funding #grant

“Oh, that’s one of Lewis’s scholarly books. Are you a scholar?” the pastor asked me last night while I was reading during my daughter’s ballet class. No, sir, I am most definitely not! 🫠 But what else are book clubs for except to push us to new heights? I recently discovered that my friend’s scholé book club is reading 1. C.S. Lewis, 2. a book about his view on Medieval Literature Well, perfect, can I come? 🎉 We’re reading C.S. Lewis with the kids (the kid books, of course) and we’re studying the Middle Ages. 📕 “The Discarded Image” is based on a series of lectures that Lewis gave at Oxford about the Medieval Man and his model of the universe. Did you know he was a medievalist? I didn’t, either. It is a HARD read!! But…we ask our kids to read hard things, what about ourselves? (Mother Culture!) 📕”The Medieval Mind of CS Lewis” is helping me, though. I’m just immersing myself in Lewis’s scholarly language until my brain gets used to it. 📕 “Preparing for Easter” is readable for me, and a nice introduction to a wide variety of his writings. 📕”English Literature in the Sixteenth Century excluding drama” is what I plan to pick up when we are through the Middle Ages. I did not notice the size of that book when I ordered it on Book Outlet! 🤣Dangers of online shopping. 👉 What have you been reading for yourself?
