Fandory Summer STEM Science Camp for Kids Fandory offers an exciting Summer STEAM Science Camp for kids ages 5–10, designed to inspire curiosity, creativity, and a love for learning. Our hands-on science summer camp features 9 unique themed weeks where children explore topics such as motion, sound, space, engineering, biology, the brain, nature, chemistry, and electricity. Campers participate in interactive STEM experiments, creative projects, and engaging science activities that help develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills. In addition to science learning, children enjoy arts and crafts, indoor playground time, and social play in a safe and nurturing environment. But the bottle was empty!?! ⤵ Yes, but no… the only thing inside was air! And when we placed it in hot and cold water to see what would happen, that air reacted differently to the different temperatures. When the bottle goes into hot water, the heat makes the air molecules inside move faster and spread out (called thermal expansion) and it blows up the ghost balloon! 👻 When it’s moved to cold water, the air slows down and takes up less space (thermal contraction) which makes the balloon deflate. 🌡️ The same thing happens in our weather! On hot days, warm air expands and rises. On cold days, cool air contracts and sinks. This tiny experiment is a fun way to see how temperature affects air movement — just like in the atmosphere! Welcome to our latest #QuickScience experiment where we balance the unbalanceable. 💧🥤 ⭕ MATERIALS: - Empty can - Water ⭕ INSTRUCTIONS: (1) Fill the can with water just enough to cover the bottom. (2) Carefully place the can on its rim on the table. (*) Be ready for some trial, error, and triumph as you test out this cool trick. If the can does not balance on its rim try adding more water or pour some water out. ⭕ SCIENCE EXPLAINED: This balancing act is possible due to the lower center of gravity created by the water at the bottom of the can. It’s all about finding that sweet spot where the can’s weight is evenly distributed over its rim. Day 7: Science Experiment We made it to the last day! 🎉 Today we are doing a stem lesson! Do you have a Zip-block bag, sharpen pencils and water? Then you can do this easy Science experiment with your kids/Students. 1. Fill up the zip-lock bag about ¾ of the way with water. Squeeze out the air and make sure the top is seal up tight. 2. Hold the zip-lock bag in one hand and use your other hand to stab a sharp pencil all the way through the baggie and out the other side. (Do not double stab the bag or there will be a hole) 3. Continue to impale the baggie with as many pencils as you have, we used 4 pencils Questions to ask What do you think will happen? Did any water spill? What happens if you try this experiment using a plastic grocery bag? How about a water balloon?
