⚠️ Parent Alert! Is your child outsmarting Apple’s Screen Time limits? 📱🚫 Here are 3 ways* kids are getting around them: 1. Using a Web Browser & Incognito Mode ➡️Even if time limits are set on an app such as YouTube or Instagram, kids can bypass via a web browser (i.e. youtube.com or instagram.com). And while parents can also set limits on websites, incognito mode allows kids to slip under the radar. ✔️ Prevent this by only allowing a select list of websites (AKA a whitelist) as part of Apple’s Screen Time 2. Deleting and Re-installing Apps ➡️If an app is deleted and re-installed, all Screen Time restrictions are removed and have to be reset. ✔️ Prevent through Apple’s Screen Time by disabling the app store (installs, downloads, in-app purchases) 3. Changing the Time Zone ➡️Kids will change the time zone settings on their phones to evade “downtime” set through Screen Time controls. ✔️ To prevent: Disable “Setting Time Zone” through Apple’s Screen Time Other solutions: ✔️ Consider third party monitoring apps and parental controls such as @barktechnologies or @mmguardian ✔️ Opt for a safer smartphone such as ones from @troomiwireless, @gabbwireless, @thepinwheelphone and @barktechnologies ✔️ Talk, talk, talk— have open conversations about the digital spaces your kids are visiting online What other loopholes have you discovered for Apple’s Screen Time? Share this reel to help alert other parents! ⚠️ Remember, filters and parental controls are NOT foolproof. This is why we say the safest filter is an internal one- an inner motivation and disposition to protect one’s brain from digital dangers. *These types of hacks and workaround tips are shared by kids ALL over TikTok and other social media sites. #defendyoungminds #parenting #parenthood #parents #parentingtips #protectyoungminds #pornproofkids #goodpicturesbadpictures #socialmedia #technology #screentime #bodysafety #digitialcleanup #internetsafety #digitalsafety #parentalcontrols #applescreentime #applefamilysharing #screentimelimits

THE BEST HACK TO SPEND LESS TIME ON YOUR PHONE: Settings -> Screen Time -> Set Downtime -> Set App Limits -> have SOMEONE ELSE SET PASSCODE SO YOU CAN'T HIT 'IGNORE' WHEN YOUR LIMIT IS UP. Free. Easy. HIGHLY EFFECTIVE. You can’t rely on willpower. You need something that takes away the option completely. This little trick takes away mindless scrolling because I know I only have a certain amount of time on the app before it gets blocked and I can't open it AND I can't be on any apps in the morning or night (when I really don't need to be on anything anyway) Head to the post to check out ALL my favorite app blockers for my computer and phone! . . . . #digitalminimalism #minimalism #neuroscience #functionalmedicine #inspoquote #motivation #momlife #lifehacks

So let me explain exactly how to do this! Go to Settings > Accessibility > Voice Control > Customize Commands > Custom > Create New Command. • Enter a phrase you want to say (for example: “Unlock”). • Under Action, select Run Custom Gesture. • On the screen that appears, simulate tapping the screen where your passcode digits appear (that’s why I marked them): • You will have to tap (or swipe) exactly where the number buttons are. • If your passcode is 1234, tap where “1” is, then “2”, then “3”, then “4”, one by one. • Tap Save. Now make sure to toggle on Voice Control and then: • Lock your iPhone. • Wake the screen so that the passcode keypad is visible. • Say “Unlock”. • The gesture will play out, entering your passcode. Back to school means new routines, and screen time boundaries are part of it. After speaking with @apple experts, here are the best parental control settings I learned about: ⠀ 📱 Setting up Screen Time passcode, and parents are alerted whenever a passcode is entered on a child’s device! 📴 Downtime, where you can set device-free hours for school, dinners, bedtime, or any other time you want. 🗣️ Communication Limits, which helps parents manage WHO their children can communicate with across Phone, FaceTime, Messages and iCloud contacts. 🔍 Content & privacy restrictions, which helps to protect your child from viewing sensitive photos and videos, and also sharing personal information. 🛡️ Ask to Buy for purchases, where child must request permission to download an app, and a parent or guardian can approve purchases remotely via requests through Messages or in person on their child’s device. With iOS 26 parents can also grant exceptions to download specific apps (they also revoke later on!). I also loved learning about the Apple Watch for kids, where parents can see their kids’ location via Find My, and kids also benefit from powerful safety tools like Emergency SOS! These tools help keep our kids safe online while giving parents peace of mind! 🍎✨ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ #ScreenTime #BackToSchool #ParentTips #ParentingHack Screen time boundaries. Parental control. 🚨 Parents, did you know kids have sneaky ways to keep apps out of sight, but not out of reach? They’re even sharing tutorials of their clever tricks with each other on social platforms like TikTok. Here’s how: 1️⃣ ‘Screen Time Control’ App – Originally designed for productivity, some kids use to make apps vanish with a single tap during “focus” mode. 2️⃣ Hidden Folders – With a few simple steps, apps can be locked behind Face ID in a hidden folder. 3️⃣ Changing Content Restrictions – By setting app limits to 4+ or 9+, certain apps (including social media apps) disappear from the home screen. **Similar methods can be used on Android phones. ⚠️ Stay ahead: Regularly check the App Store for all installed apps and block the ability to download new apps without permission.
