As we wrap up Second Chance Month, we asked our directors what it means to them and why reentry must be more than a month long conversation. When the majority of incarcerated individuals return home, prioritizing second chances isn’t optional… it’s essential to public safety, stronger families, and safer communities.

Housing is a fundamental step in anyone’s reentry journey. When people have a stable place to come home to, it opens the door to jobs, health, and long-term stability. Second Chance Month might be drawing to a close, but if you have a spare bedroom in the Bay Area or Los Angeles, you can still be part of someone’s second chance journey (and earn up to $1,550/month!) with the Homecoming Project.
