Training isn’t optional. It’s survival. This weekend we ran live pat-down and search training with the team because in this profession, skill isn’t a bonus — it’s protection. You can’t fake preparation in security. You can’t “wing it” when lives are on the line. And you definitely can’t afford to be under-trained in a career that can get you hurt… or worse. At Peak Protection 365, we don’t just put bodies on posts. We build professionals. More training. More protocols. More awareness. Higher standards. If you’re serious about your craft and want to work with a company that actually invests in you, sharpens you, and treats you like a professional — not just a warm body — it’s time to level up. Join the team. Train different. Move different. Be different. 📩 DM us or apply today @PeakProtection365 #SecurityTraining #PrivateSecurity #AtlantaSecurity #SecurityGuards PeakProtection365

Over Tool Reliance It is no longer a trend. We are seeing a widespread pandemic of officers becoming over-reliant on tools while remaining undertrained in fundamental hands-on skills. In my view, until an officer develops a confident baseline in physical control, they should not be issued a complex array of tools. Expecting an officer to cycle through a “deck” of options during a dynamic, evolving use of force scenario without a foundation in leverage based control is a recipe for failure. This level of competence should be established in police academies nationwide. However, the frequency of these incidents suggests otherwise. In this specific case, an officer skilled in gross motor movements and fundamental leverage control concepts such as setting a low anchor on the subject, could have ended the encounter immediately. This officer’s over reliance on tools left her partner compromised and the general public at risk. Stay Humble Stay Serviceable Stay Ready

Law Enforcement Agencies must take responsibility for poor performance. It starts with the standard. Many agencies continue to fail at setting a realistic standard. They fail to provide Quality training with adequate Quantity of reps and more often than not they fail to provide a Frequency of training that will insure automatic motor programs that can be applied through critical thinking. Quality, Quantity and Frequency. That’s what it takes for a program to be acceptable. Instead we allow substandard, check the box training which requires officers who want to be proficient to seek out training on their own time and dime. The officer in this video bears some responsibility but her trainers, supervisors and most importantly her Chief are who hold the most responsibility.

Instructors have a finite amount of hours they are allotted by their agencies to teach for new hires and in-service. As an instructor I will say, it's never enough hours. We cannot make you proficient in the techniques and concepts we teach you. You need to train on your own as well to become proficient and effective. What we see here are two officers that cannot deliver effective force. As such, they are unable to take him down, unable to get him to any position of disadvantage or control and they are unable to handcuff him. Thankfully, he is not resisting hard or actively trying to harm them. Team tactics are important. Training together is important. Communication is important. But if you cannot deliver effective force, all of those become more difficult. Comment. Share. DM for curriculum information.

STOP THE BLEED COURSE If you carry a firearm for self-defense, you really should know how to give basic medical aid, to either yourself or another person. If you regularly shoot on a gun range, you really should know how to give basic medical aid, to either yourself or another person. Carrying a gun (on your person) should influence the need for carrying small medical items, (on your person) This was a group of family and friends, who wanted certifiable medical training for self defense/active shooter purposes. Our friends at @floridatems delivered a fantastic course, pitched at an excellent level, that both adults and children, understood. The morning was spent in the classroom, before moving down to The Street Range for some scenario training, involving the vehicles, casualty extractions, some wilderness medicine, and testing communication and leadership, as a group, under duress. Massive thanks to JP and Phil from @floridatems for an outstanding course of instruction. We’re now considering making this a regular (once per month) occurrence, for those that can see the benefit of how to keep yourself, or a loved one alive, during a shooting incident.
