What causes a D-shaped interventricular septum? t's all about ventricular interdependence. When right ventricular pressure or volume rises relative to the left ventricle, the septum flattens-distorting the LV from circular to "D-shaped." • Systole + pressure overload • Diastole ¥ volume overload • Both phases + combined overload

Pulmonary Stenting..👇👇👇 (specifically airway stenting) is a procedure used to open up a blocked or narrowed airway in the lungs. This allows the patient to breathe more easily when their windpipe (trachea) or bronchial tubes are being compressed or obstructed. Here is the detailed procedure: 1. Preparation and Anesthesia Imaging: Before the procedure, doctors use CT scans or X-rays to map the exact location and size of the blockage. Anesthesia: The procedure is almost always performed under General Anesthesia. This ensures the patient is completely asleep and the throat muscles are relaxed. 2. Accessing the Airway The Tool: Doctors use a Bronchoscope (a thin, flexible or rigid tube with a camera and light at the tip). Entry: The scope is inserted through the mouth and guided down into the trachea (windpipe) and towards the lungs. 3. Measuring the Blockage Once the doctor reaches the blocked area, they measure the diameter and length of the narrow section. They must choose the correct Stent Type: Silicone Stents: Often used for long-term placement; easy to remove. Self-expanding Metal Stents (SEMS): Made of mesh; these are easier to insert in tighter spaces. 4. Deploying the Stent The stent is compressed into a thin delivery catheter. Under the guidance of the camera (and sometimes real-time X-rays called Fluoroscopy), the doctor pushes the stent to the site of the blockage. The stent is then deployed (released). It expands like a spring, pushing against the walls of the airway to hold it open. 5. Final Inspection The doctor uses the camera to ensure the stent is perfectly positioned and that air can flow freely through it. Any excess mucus or blood is suctioned out before removing the bronchoscope. Why is this done? The most common reasons for pulmonary stenting include: Lung Cancer: When a tumor grows inside the airway or presses on it from the outside. Tracheomalacia: A condition where the airway walls are too weak and collapse during breathing. Scar Tissue: Narrowing caused by previous infections (like TB) or long-term use of a breathing tube . . . #pulmonary #stanting #interventionalcardiology #medhealth #knowledge

NT insertion (Nasotracheal intubation): A tube is passed through the nose into the trachea to maintain the airway and provide oxygen or ventilator support. It is done by trained medical professionals in emergency, ICU, or surgical settings.

Percutaneous Balloon Aortic Valvuloplasty (BAV): A patient with severe symptomatic aortic stenosis underwent Balloon Aortic Valvuloplasty (BAV). Access was obtained via the right femoral arterial route. A pigtail catheter was positioned in the aortic root for baseline hemodynamic assessment and angiographic evaluation. The stenotic aortic valve was crossed with a guidewire and positioned in the left ventricular apex. An appropriately sized valvuloplasty balloon was advanced across the aortic valve under fluoroscopic guidance. After optimal balloon positioning, rapid ventricular pacing was initiated to reduce cardiac output and stabilize the balloon during inflation. The balloon was inflated across the valve and subsequently deflated in a controlled manner. Post-dilation assessment demonstrated an immediate reduction in transvalvular gradient with improved valvular opening. Final aortic root angiography and invasive pressure measurements confirmed procedural success. Innvolution’s Premier Elite Cath Lab provided high-resolution fluoroscopic imaging throughout the procedure, enabling precise visualization of balloon positioning and post-dilation valve morphology. The system supported real-time device tracking and consistent image clarity during rapid ventricular pacing, facilitating accurate balloon alignment, controlled inflation, and reliable post-dilation assessment, thereby contributing to procedural precision and safety. Endotracheal intubation secures the airway by placing a tube into the trachea, allowing oxygen and anesthesia to be delivered directly to the lungs. It’s a critical, life saving procedure used in emergencies, surgeries, and critical care.

“Was that the loss of resistance?” Epidural anesthesia remains one of the hardest skills to teach because it relies entirely on tactile feedback. Unlike ultrasound-guided blocks, there’s no shared screen. In this video, you’ll see how making loss of resistance visible changes that moment - turning uncertainty into objective feedback and supervision into something measurable. Featuring the Flat Medical EpiFaith Smart Syringe - designed to provide visual confirmation of epidural space entry while preserving the traditional technique. Watch the video on NYSORA’s YouTube Channel. See the difference. The link is in our bio!

Endotracheal intubation is a life-saving procedure where a tube is inserted through the mouth into the trachea to maintain an open airway and allow mechanical ventilation. ➡️Indications (When we do it) • Respiratory failure (Type 1 or Type 2) • Low GCS (≤ 8) • Airway protection (coma, aspiration risk) • Cardiac arrest • Severe trauma / head injury • Severe hypoxia not improving with oxygen • During general anesthesia 👨⚕️ Steps of Endotracheal Intubation 1️⃣ Preparation • Assess airway (LEMON method) • Pre-oxygenate with 100% O₂ for 3–5 minutes • Attach monitors 2️⃣ Positioning • “Sniffing position” (neck flexion + head extension) 3️⃣ Rapid Sequence Intubation (if required) • Sedative (e.g., midazolam, etomidate, propofol) • Paralytic (e.g., succinylcholine, rocuronium) 4️⃣ Laryngoscopy • Insert blade from right side • Visualize vocal cords 5️⃣ Insert ET Tube • Pass tube through vocal cords • Depth: 21 cm (female), 23 cm (male) at teeth (approx.) 6️⃣ Inflate Cuff • Inflate with 5–10 ml air 7️⃣ Confirm Placement ✔ Bilateral chest rise ✔ Equal air entry ✔ No gastric sounds ✔ ETCO₂ waveform (gold standard) ✔ Chest X-ray (tip 2–3 cm above carina) ⚠️ Complications • Esophageal intubation • Right main bronchus intubation • Dental trauma • Hypoxia • Aspiration • Laryngeal injury • Pneumothorax #viral #instagram #automation #nurse #trending

Correct way of suctioning — small steps, big impact! Suctioning isn’t just about clearing secretions. Done right, it prevents hypoxia, arrhythmias, mucosal injury & infection. ✔️ Pre-oxygenate ✔️ Use correct catheter size (≤ 50% of ETT ID) ✔️ No suction while inserting ✔️ Apply suction only while withdrawing ✔️ Limit each pass to ≤ 10–15 seconds ✔️ Re-oxygenate between passes 📌 Remember: Gentle, brief, and need-based suction saves lungs. #AirwayManagement #EndotrachealSuctioning #ICUCare

Decompressive Thoracentesis (Needle Decompression) Decompressive thoracentesis is an emergency, life-saving procedure done to relieve tension pneumothorax by removing trapped air from the pleural cavity. Indication 🔴 Tension pneumothorax (clinical diagnosis – do not wait for X-ray) Common clinical features: Severe dyspnea Hypotension (shock) Tracheal deviation (away from affected side) Hyper-resonant percussion note Absent breath sounds Raised JVP Cyanosis Purpose Convert tension pneumothorax → simple pneumothorax Restore venous return to heart Improve ventilation and oxygenation Site of Needle Insertion Classical site 📍 2nd intercostal space, mid-clavicular line (Insert needle just above the upper border of the rib to avoid neurovascular bundle) Alternative (now preferred in many guidelines) 📍 4th or 5th intercostal space, anterior axillary line Procedure Identify insertion site Clean with antiseptic Insert large-bore needle / cannula (14–16G) Advance until a hissing sound of air is heard Leave cannula in place temporarily Follow with intercostal chest tube (definitive treatment) Complications Bleeding Infection Lung injury Intercostal vessel damage Failure due to incorrect site or short needle Contraindications ❌ None in emergency (Relative contraindications are ignored in life-threatening tension pneumothorax) Difference from Therapeutic Thoracentesis Decompressive Thoracentesis Therapeutic Thoracentesis Emergency Elective Air removal Fluid removal Tension pneumothorax Pleural effusion Large-bore needle Wide-bore needle/catheter #explore #reels #neetpg #medical #fmge
