A few things that has helped me improved my shear work: Working in small sections is so important! A good guide is to keep it within a combs with or around an inch. This is important because if youโre sections become to big, youโll start overdirecting hairs out of their natural position and that will lead to unevenness all throughout the head. So stay patient and go section by section. Not cutting past your second knuckle! This is important for a couple reasons. First of all it helps you avoid cutting yourself. If Iโve ever cut myself 90% of the time itโs because I wasnโt being disciplined and decided to cut past my second knuckle. And we all know those cuts arenโt fun ๐คฃ The other reason for this is because from the tip of the finger to the second knuckle is where most of the tension is; past that there wonโt be much tension and the hair can potentially be cut at a different length which will also cause unevenness. Lastly is knowing that you can use your bottom fingers as a holder for your still blade. As you can see in the video, my still blade(bottom blade) is being held still by my fingers where Iโm holding the hair. Instead of trying to float your shears to the perfect place to cut. Simply rest your still blade on your fingers and allow that to help you get a cleaner and more stable cut. Hope this helps! ๐๐ #chicagobarber #chicagobarbershop #chicagohairstylist #scissorcut #precisionbarber

Shear Work For Beginners โ๏ธ Before this, I went in w the 3 guard and chopped off his mullet in the back. I then went in with shear work to blend the clipper work into the shear work. I wanted the shape in the back to be established first because my clients main focus was the back. He wanted a style change but still wanted maximum length in the back. Once i cut the sides and top with scissors it was easy to execute a crispy low taper. Keep things simple, you donโt need to know everything about haircutting to make your clients happy. Just focus on the important things they care about and execute with what you know. ๐ Iโm dropping this full length tutorial on my channel tonight. Happy Sunday ๐
