I spent a decade figuring this out the hard way. You don’t have to. You don’t need permission. You don’t need another certification. You need a plan. Save this if you’re ready to stop wondering “what if” and start planning your next move.

Evidence-based research trumps social media trends every time. Trends are built for attention. Research is built for results. One is loud, fast, and usually oversimplified. The other is tested, nuanced, and actually works long-term. If you’re tired of chasing the next viral “fix” and want an approach grounded in science and real life, let’s talk. 📞 Schedule a consultation call through the link in my bio:)

Hey influencers, if you want to order labs/diagnostics, why don’t you get the training and licensure to do so?  You may not know this, but when a licensed clinician orders a lab or diagnostic test, we are legally and ethically responsible to interpret and follow up on that test. So why is the expectation that I have to put my license on the line for an influencer’s advice? There is a reason that we go through our rigorous training and state board licensure for the ability to assess, diagnose, treat, prescribe and order testing.  But so many wellness professionals think they can just give their client a list and we will just blindly order it and pass it on.  Some labs can be harmless, but others, can cause some serious anxiety, uncertainty and expensive, usually unnecessary workup because those tests are not validated, sensitive or specific.  But if we as licensed clinicians don’t roll over and order anything and everything asked, now we are seen as if we don’t listen or care. Yet as a matter of fact, we absolutely do! There are many reasons I do not order unnecessary labs or have a “test first, ask questions later” mentality, especially if the treatment is going to be the same.  It is our job to ensure we are responsible stewards with our assessments, diagnosis and healthcare spending.  We value our patient’s financial security as much as their health and wellness.   I encourage you to have a discussion with your licensed clinician (MD, DO, PA, NP) about the lab tests being ordered and why they are being ordered.  If you feel like you can’t do that, then I recommend finding another clinician who you can talk to easily.  We are not trying to be a roadblock to your care, but I worked hard to get where I am and I can’t help others if I am held up in court.  #directprimarycare #lifestylemedicine #nursepractitioner #healthcare #smallbusinessowners
