stop separating yourself. stop shoulding on yourself. stop putting pressure on yourself. stop not starting because of all you “need” and all you “don’t have”. The shoes, the clothes, the ability and “things” that make it possible to START. I’ll tell you once the most important thing that needs to show up, it’s YOU. You need nothing more right noowww, than just YOURSELF, and your willingness to show up and to start and to be there for you. just start, you don’t need the things.. You’re everything Xx sweeps

Stop shoulding all over yourself. Language shapes reality. The way that we speak to ourselves is important. —Brad (Follow me for more insights on sustainable excellence. I post actionable ideas like this 5 to 7 days per week.)

👇Takeaways:👇 1️⃣ WOW: the power of moms’ voice!!! 2️⃣ Your teenager wants to hear from you more than you realize, especially when it’s not nagging or SHOULDing or suggesting they do something. 3️⃣ This outcome is less likely if your teenager doesn’t feel safe with you, so work on becoming trusted, so they feel joy when they hear your voice. 4️⃣ Do you text your teen when in the same room? I thought that was curious 🤔 5️⃣ Do I start calling my teenager when they’re at school now during the day? Maybe just call when possible or as much as possible. YOUR TEENAGER NEEDS TO HEAR MORE OF YOUR VOIVE LOVING ON THEM. 👉What is your takeaway? #parentingteenagers #momofteenagers #raisingteenagers

If we want children to become better listeners, we have to become better communicators. This is a skill that is important in so many moments that we often struggle with. This is a skill that is helpful for transitions, sibling conflict, and generally any guidance we are trying to provide. When we focus on the problem, we’re going to get more problems. When we focus on solutions, we’re going to get more solutions. Also, sometimes we think that if we set a needed boundary, then children should listen to those boundaries. If we want to be more effective at helping children listen to our boundaries, the first step is to stop “shoulding” on yourself. The reason they can’t accept the boundary is because they think things SHOULD be a certain way. The reason we can’t accept their discontent or pushback for our boundaries is because we think things SHOULD be a certain way. They SHOULD just listen immediately. They SHOULDN’T hit as a reaction. The more we are able to accept the moment as it is, the more they will learn to accept the moment as it is. This doesn’t mean we Okay the boundary crossing behavior, but it does mean that we accept the reality as it is and respond to it in a helpful way. The "should"s we encounter from others and even from ourselves can be absolutely exhausting. Throw them away and focus instead on what brings you joy 🥰 #allbodiesaregoodbodies #dopaminedressing #lagenlook #morigirl #thriftedfashion #plussize #dietculturedropout

I don’t know who needs to hear this but it’s okay to occasionally do nothing. I laid in bed, binge watched Somebody Feed @phil.rosenthal and ate pasta (twice). It would have been glorious if I didn’t feel guilty about it. No more shoulding. Take the day! Learn from me. 𝑪𝒂𝒘𝒇𝒆𝒆 𝑻𝒂𝒘𝒌 𝒘/ 𝑻𝒂𝒓𝒂 𝑪𝒂𝒏𝒏𝒊𝒔𝒕𝒓𝒂𝒄𝒊 new episode every Monday! YouTube. Spotify. Quit “shoulding” on me. Everybody’s got advice — but if it doesn’t align with your strategy, it’s noise. Your strategy should drive your behavior. Not the other way around. Define what you want. stop “shoulding” on yourself should = shame You can do whatever the fuck you want! Shaming yourself about what you “should” and “shouldn’t” do is a waste of energy. You’re good.
