🧚🏼 #fairytalefridays 🧚🏼 Today I’m diving into the #fairytalefridays archives to feature a difficult bassoon melody from the Lemminkäinen Suite (1895), a set of symphonic poems by Sibelius that I am playing with @detroitsymphony this weekend! 🌊 This excerpt is from the fourth and final movement of the suite, Lemminkäinen’s Return. In this portion of the story from the Kalevala, the Finnish national epic, the hero returns home to see his mother.
