Imagine having a guitar 🎸 solo in your own diss track. Despite being 20 years old at the time of its popular release, the live version of "Silver Springs" was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals. The song was intended for Rumours, but Mick Fleetwood removed it because it was too long and the album already had too many slow songs. It was replaced by "I Don't Want to Know." Stevie was devastated when the song was cut. She reportedly told Mick Fleetwood, "I’m never going to be okay with this," as she considered it one of her best works. Stevie Nicks saw a sign for "Silver Spring, Maryland" while passing through on a tour bus. She loved the name and felt it sounded like a "fairytale" place. The song is a haunting message to Lindsey Buckingham. The lyrics "I'll follow you down 'til the sound of my voice haunts you" were Stevie’s way of saying that even if they weren't together, he would never be able to escape her presence or her success. "Silver Springs" is often called the most famous "lost" song in rock history. Written by Stevie Nicks for the Rumours album, it was infamously cut from the final tracklist due to its length and the band's internal politics. It remained a hidden gem until the 1997 reunion album The Dance, where its raw, fiery live performance turned it into a massive hit and a symbol of the unresolved tension between Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham. Fleetwood Mac performing “Silver Springs” Live in May of ’97 at Warner Bros Studios in Burbank, California “Silver Springs” was written shortly after Stevie’s breakup with Lindsey Buckingham. The intention behind the song was to make sure the guitarist would never forget about her. In 2009, she told Rolling Stone: “It was me realizing that Lindsey was going to haunt me for the rest of my life, and he has.” The idea behind the song title came from a sign for Silver Spring, Maryland while driving with Buckingham. The name was, to her, so beautiful that she wrote it into the song. Upon completion the song was intended to be released on Rumors, but was omitted due to its length and relatively slow tempo. However, Stevie wanted the song on there, but the rest of the band vetoed the decision. In his book Making Rumours, Ken Caillat described “Silver Springs” as “gorgeous”, “powerful”, and “a masterpiece”. He added, “there was only one problem: I knew the song was too long to fit on the album.” Another suggestion was made to have “Gold Dust Woman” replaced with “Silver Springs”, but that idea was also shot down. Eventually, the song was banished to the B-Side of the “Go Your Own Way” single. Fleetwood Mac’s 1997 reunion album “The Dance” featured the song. Nicks reflected during a 1997 MTV interview. “My beautiful song just disappeared 20 years ago. For it to come back around like this has really been special to me. . . . . . . . #FleetwoodMac #SilverSprings #ClassicRock #MusicReels 🎶

Imagine dropping a diss track so powerful… it comes with its own guitar solo 🎸 Even though Silver Springs was written over 20 years earlier, its iconic live version still landed a Grammy nomination for Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals — proving some emotions don’t fade, they intensify. Originally meant for Rumours, the song was cut by Mick Fleetwood due to length and pacing, replaced by I Don’t Want to Know. For Stevie Nicks, it wasn’t just another track — it was personal, and losing it hit hard. The title came from a passing glimpse of Silver Spring, Maryland — a name Stevie felt sounded like something out of a dream. But behind that dreamy vibe is a razor-sharp message aimed at Lindsey Buckingham — a haunting reminder that some love stories don’t end… they echo. Often called rock’s most legendary “lost song,” Silver Springs finally got its moment on The Dance. The 1997 performance wasn’t just a comeback — it was raw, intense, and unforgettable… like watching years of unresolved emotion unfold in real time.

Today’s a pastry day apparently, lol 😅Super excited to feature my FAVE bakery in Silver Spring for Day 4️⃣2️⃣ of #100AsianRestaurantsInMaryland. And yes, I know it’s not a restaurant, BUT I have a few Asian bakeries I really love that I wanted to highlight so I’m including them, lol. Hopefully you guys don’t mind 🫶 ANYWHO, @morning_my_day is so lovely. The owners, Wendy and Alan, are the sweetest. They make everything from scratch daily, and they’re just the nicest people✨ She’s in charge of the cakes, and he tackles all the fresh breads. Their purple yam flower bun’s their top seller, but other must tries include their black sesame mochi bread, tiramisu and more. They also have phenomenal boba as well so definitely make sure you get a drink as well when you go🧋 PS. they’ll heat your noms up for you if you ask! Highly recommend doing this because it makes your treats taste even better 🥰 A huge thanks for letting us film and treating us to eats that day! They recognized us from our first feature of them a while back and generously comped our tab 🥹🙏 Definitely let me know what you guys think when you go‼️ 📍1305 Fenwick Ln, Silver Spring ⏰M-Sa 10:30-8PM, Su 10:30-6PM
