Single crochet decrease ⬇️ Recognise the two adjoining sc stitches where you want to make a sc dec. we are calling them sc 1 and sc 2 1. Insert your hook in sc 1, pull up a loop, you have two loops on your hook. Don’t complete your sc as usual. 2. Now, insert your hook into the very next stitch i.e. sc 2, pull up a loop, you now have three loops on your hook. 3. Yarn over, pull through all 3 loops. Your sc dec is ready US terms. This technique is used to reduce/decrease the number of single crochet (sc ) stitches in a row/round. We have basically made one sc in place of two. There are a number of methods to make a sc dec. Today I have shared a basic and beginner friendly method. 🧶 Follow @crochet.chronicles_ #singlecrochet #crochettutorial #crochetforbeginners #crochetbeginner #crochetstitch single crochet decrease tutorial, what is sc decrease, crochet tutorial, crochet basics, crochet for beginners, crochet techniques, crochet beginner tutorial, sc dec tutorial, crochet basics, crochet guide, crochet 101

Which decrease do you prefer? I almost always use the invisible decrease since I think it looks neater and more like a single crochet stitch. It also adds less bulk since we are going through the front loops only and can help create less gaping holes when decreasing at the end of a project. 💗 However, sometimes I use a traditional decrease especially if I’m making a project with the back loops only.

✨Decreasing stitches, often abbreviated as "Dec" in diagrams, work together with increasing stitches to help shape crochet projects effectively. Welcome to another #JustAtipTuesday - Today I’m showing you how to eliminate gaps and make your decreases look seamless using the invisible decrease technique. In a standard decrease, where you crochet two stitches together you would: insert hook into first stitch, draw up a loop, then insert hook into second stitch before finishing your decrease. This technique is great when working in rows or with mix of taller stitches. However, when it comes to amigurumi, the standard decrease becomes quite noticeable. Not only that but it also leaves larger gaps allowing the stuffing to show. To avoid this and make your decreases blend with the rest of the stitches, use the invisible decrease method: - Insert hook into front loop of the first stitch, and into front loop of the second stitch (3 loops on hook) yarn over, pull through two loops, yarn over and pull through remaining two loops. #theknottyboss #crochetsecrets

Reverse Single Crochet 🧶♥️ I call it the reverse single crochet, but it is also known as a crab stitch. It's very good for working in the round, or in the row. I mostly use it as a border or edging because of the nice finish it makes. Here is a quick little tutorial I made to demonstrate with a small basket. I'll include a written instructions on my blog 👉🏻 KnitcroAddict ( link in the bio ) . . . #knitcroaddict #reversesinglecrochetedge #reversesinglecrochet #crochet #crochettutorial #crochetlove #crocheting #crochetlove #crochetdesign #crochetaddict #crochetwithlove

Normal decrease & invisible decrease 🧶 If you crochet a ball shape🟢, then the decreases can be made even more invisible👌 if you use the METHOD OF SHIFTING the decreases in even rounds. I made a post about this method "Perfect circle" earlier, you can find it in my profile or in highlights. 👇 In this case, we crocheted the body of the ball in 36 stitches. So the decreases will be as follows: R14) Sc 2, (Sc 4, dec) x 5, Sc 2 (30) R15) (Sc 3, dec) x 6 (24) R16) Sc, (Sc 2, dec) x 5, Sc (18) R17) (Sc, dec) x 6 (12) R18) dec x 6 (6) #crochettutorial #crochettips #crochettip #crochettipsandtricks #crochethowto #howtocrochet #amigurumitips #amigurumiball #amigurumishapes #amigurumitoys #crochettoy #crochettoys #amigurumilove #crochetpattern #crochetpatterns #amigurumipatterns #amigurumianimal #amigurumiaddict #amigurumilover #howtocrochet #crochetlesson #crochetforbeginners #crochetforinstagram #singlecrochetdecrease #invisibledecrease
