Getting your ski boots on properly is key to a great day on the slopes🎿 Here’s how to do it: 1️⃣ Pull up your socks: Make sure they’re smooth with no wrinkles to avoid discomfort. 2️⃣ Wear 3/4 length base layers: Keep only your socks in the boots. Extra fabric could cause friction. 3️⃣ Unbuckle completely: Open up the boots to give your feet as much space as possible. 4️⃣ Adjust the tongue: Pull it forward and slightly to the side as you slide your foot in. It’s tricky, but worth the effort! 5️⃣ Fix everything in place: Make sure the tongue and buckles are aligned properly. 6️⃣ Tap your heel: A solid tap will settle your foot into the right position. Don’t worry, you won’t damage the boots! 7️⃣ Tighten the top buckles first: Adjust these to your comfort later if needed. 8️⃣ Secure the power strap before the bottom buckles: Bottom buckles should only be finger-tightc, they keep water out but don’t affect performance. ➡️ Pro Tip: Buckle up, then loosen them while walking around. Every morning of the family ski vacation, I dreaded hitting the slopes for one simple reason: I was in constant pain. My feet ached, my head hurt, and I was always too hot or too cold. I was miserable! 😫 I eventually realized that ski boot fit is everything. If you want to stop the foot pain and actually enjoy the mountain, avoid these common skiing mistakes: • 🧦 One pair of socks ONLY: Doubling up actually cuts off circulation and makes feet colder! • 🚫 Smooth it out: Ensure there are zero wrinkles in your socks to avoid blisters. • 👖 Leggings up: Pull your base layers completely above the top of your boot. • 🦶 Don’t overtighten: Your buckles should be snug, but not cutting off your blood flow. • ⚡ Strap placement: Place the booster or power strap under your shell but over the liners. • ❄️ Keep it dry: Pull your powder sleeve down to keep snow out and your socks dry!
