LETS CHAT 💬 STEP DOWNS! . . A step down is a wonderful single leg movement great for building strength but also extremely functional imagine like you’re stepping down or backwards from a step in every day life etc . . It differs from a step up motion, simply by being naturally a little more hip dominant by slowing down the step back and aiming to control the decent. . . You can progress this for yourself or clients simply by mastering the reverse lunge pattern before aiming to go right into a step down. Once there, the plate press-out is a great tool to actively get the hips to “sit back” as you step down. . . Happy turkey 🦃 eve y’all! 💪 . #fitnesscoach #mbscthrive #cfsc #personaltraining

Single leg step downs are one of my favorites 🤩 They help with unilateral strength, balance, and hip stability all of which will help you run more comfortably! Focus on lowering slowly and controlling the eccentric part and then lightly tap the ground but don’t transfer your weight down to the ground. I used a soft box in this video but in order to make it easier to balance you can use a firmer box. You can also hold a light counterweight out in front of you to help you balance. And to make it more challenging you can increase the height of the box. . . . . #singlelegexercises #stabilityforrunners #strengthforrunners #singlelegstrength #singlelegstepdown #stabilityworkout #stabilityexercises #runnerstrength #fitnessmotivation #yeoreo #yeoreoofficial

Knee Health ⚙️| Nuts & Bolts | Details ⬇️ Movement Blueprint 📐: 4 ROUNDS 1. Forward + Reverse Step Downs X 20 Total Per Side (No Bands) 2. Heel Walks X 30 Steps Total 3. Quadruped TKE X 15 Reps 4. TKE ATG Split Lunges (Floating Heel) X 12 per side 5. Heel Floating Banded Bulgarians X 12 Per Side Movement Mindset: Emphasize control, especially on the eccentric phase. Progress or regress by adjusting height, range, or resistance (band/weight or body weight). The addition of the band around the knee places an more demand on the quads and surrounding soft tissue while executing the terminal knee extensions (TKE). The floating or elevated heel engages the muscles of the lower leg and ankles while facilitating a greater degree of flexion at the knee joint. SAVE | SHARE | DO ✅

Calf raises, step downs, and step ups are crucial exercises for maintaining stair climbing ability and overall mobility as we age. Calf raises strengthen the calf muscles, improve ankle stability, and enhance balance, reducing fall risks. Step downs target the quadriceps, glutes, and calves, aiding in controlled descent and improving coordination. Step ups build strength in the quadriceps, glutes, and hamstrings, essential for climbing stairs and rising from chairs. Together, these exercises enhance lower body strength, balance, and endurance, supporting safer, more confident movement in daily activities and helping maintain independence in older adults.
