Here’s exactly what I did 👇 ⸻ 1️⃣ Built a target list (Week 0) • Shortlisted 25–30 international companies • Filtered only visa-sponsoring roles Resources: LinkedIn Jobs, Indeed, Levels.fyi ⸻ 2️⃣ Reverse-engineered job requirements (Week 1) • Analysed 35–40 job descriptions • Noted repeated skills (≥60% frequency) • Turned that into my prep roadmap ⸻ 3️⃣ Structured a 10–12 week plan • Weeks 1–5 → DSA • Weeks 6–8 → System Design • Weeks 9–10 → Domain + Behavioral • Weeks 11–12 → Mocks + applications No random prep. ⸻ 4️⃣ Focused DSA prep (not overkill) • Solved ~100 problems max • Prioritised patterns + clarity • Practiced explaining approach out loud Resources: LeetCode (Top/Company), NeetCode, InterviewBit ⸻ 5️⃣ System design (game changer) • Prepared 8–10 core systems (Auth, Feed, Payments, Search, Notifications) • Covered APIs, DB, caching, failures, trade-offs Resources: Grokking SDI System Design Primer (GitHub) Gaurav Sen, AWS Blogs ⸻ 6️⃣ Used real work experience • Documented 3–4 production projects • Focus: scale, latency, failures, decisions Tool: Notion / Docs ⸻ 7️⃣ Practiced international interview style • Clear, structured answers • Admitted when I didn’t know • Focused on reasoning, not guessing ⸻ 8️⃣ Built a global-standard CV • 1 page • Impact + numbers • No Indian formatting Resources: Overleaf FAANG templates, ResumeWorded ⸻ 9️⃣ Did mock interviews (non-negotiable) • 6–8 mocks • Fixed one gap per round Resources: Pramp, Interviewing.io ⸻ 🔟 Applied strategically • Applied within 5–7 days of posting • Only relevant roles • No mass applying ⸻ 🎯 Outcome ₹1.8Cr international offer — cracked directly from India.
