Pinocytosis is the process by which a cell takes in small molecules and fluids from the extracellular fluid into the cytoplasm. In this animation these solutes are visualized as balls. Pinocytosis is comparable to eating and drinking of a cell. („pino“ = „drinking“). Pinocytosis is one of the three types of endocytosis. When the cell takes in the fluid, it is stored in a tiny vesicle provided by the cell membrane. . . . . . When red blood cells (RBCs) are placed in a saline solution, typically around 0.9% sodium chloride (NaCl), they remain stable. This solution is isotonic to the RBCs, meaning that the concentration of solutes inside the cells is equal to that outside. Because of this balance, there is no net movement of water into or out of the cells, and they retain their normal shape and size. This is why saline is commonly used in medical settings for intravenous infusions. In contrast, when RBCs are exposed to a solution with a high concentration of salt, it creates a hypertonic environment. The solute concentration outside the cells is higher than inside, causing water to move out of the cells by osmosis in an attempt to balance the solute levels. As a result, the RBCs shrink and become crenated, or shriveled. This loss of water can impair the cells' ability to transport oxygen efficiently, eventually killing the cell. Placing RBCs in pure water also kills them due to the hypotonic environment, where the solute concentration outside the cells is lower than inside. Water rushes into the cells by osmosis, causing them to swell. If the influx of water continues unchecked, the RBCs can swell to the point of bursting in a process called hemolysis. This rapid and catastrophic breakdown also disrupts the cells' ability to carry oxygen and can have harmful effects if it occurs within the body. Chronic lip dryness is not a failure to drink enough water; it is a consequence of flushing the body with an empty solvent. Plain water, whether bottled or from the tap, is inherently dehydrating because it lacks solutes. When this liquid enters the system, it acts as a magnet for minerals, binding to the body’s existing electrolytes and washing them out. This is observable in real time; drinking plain water often results in the need to urinate within twenty minutes because the fluid passes straight through the system without being absorbed. Even the taste is a biological warning; the liquid is often bitter and tastes of plastic because it has been sitting in a plastic container, literally leaching chemicals from the bottle itself. True hydration must be bound to fats, minerals, and enzymes to be utilized. Fluids like raw milk and highly mineralized well water come naturally packaged with the materials required for absorption. This is why raw fat is non-negotiable for the mucous membranes. These tissues are not merely wet; they are lubricated. Raw animal fat contains structured moisture within its matrix, providing the lubrication necessary to keep the skin pliable. A diet low in raw fat denies the body the very material it uses to prevent cracking. This systemic dryness is further driven by the reliance on cooked food. The steam rising from a hot meal is not just heat; it is the water and heat-sensitive nutrients leaving the matter. Well-done meat or a bowl of grains is a dehydrated mass that acts like a dry sponge in the gut. To digest this material, the body is forced to pull water and enzymes from its own blood and tissues to moisten the food in the stomach. This places the individual in a constant state of dehydration. To fix the lips, one must stop flushing the system with solvents and start consuming water-rich raw foods that donate moisture rather than stealing it. #diet #health #mogged #blackpill #looksmaxx

In this simulation, students investigate the effects of different solutes, and different amounts of those solutes, on the boiling point and freezing point of a solution. Additionally, they analyze particle-level animations of boiling and freezing with different types and amounts of solutes, as well as graphical representations of the results of each trial. Let’s test your urinary system knowledge! If you’re prepping for the TEAS 7 exam, here’s a quick practice question. Which part of the nephron is primarily responsible for filtration? The answer is D! The glomerulus is the part of the nephron where blood is filtered, allowing water and small solutes to enter the nephron while keeping larger molecules like proteins and blood cells in the bloodstream. . . #teasprep #nursingschool #anatomyandphysiology #nursingstudentlife #teas7

⚡ The energy of the future: Meet Riddhi Bhagwat '27! Riddhi used a machine learning model to monitor and predict how solutes and fluids flow underground, as a part of the MITEI energy undergraduate research opportunities program. This work can aid development in geothermal energy as well as underground resource management such as carbon dioxide storage and nuclear waste repositories. Here, Riddhi, a computer science and engineering major at MIT, shares how her work is helping to bridge the energy transition gap. #aroundMIT #energy #geothermalenergy #energytransition #energyofthefuture @mit @riddhi_bhagwat

“Which Solvents Can Dissolve Oil? Let’s Crack It! 🔬” To answer this, we need to understand polarity—a key concept in chemistry. Here’s the golden rule: Like dissolves like! • Oil is a non-polar liquid. So, it needs a non-polar solvent to dissolve. • Water and ethanol? Nope! They’re polar because of their highly electronegative oxygen atoms. • CS₂ (Carbon Disulfide) and butane? Yes! They’re non-polar—perfect matches for dissolving oil! Keep this concept in mind for NEET and beyond—it’s a game-changer! 🌟 #NEETPrep #ChemistrySimplified #LikeDissolvesLike #NonPolarVsPolar #OilAndSolvents #StudentLife #NEETMotivation #chemistry #biology #physics #solutions #suspensions #solvents #solutes #neetbiology #neetchemistry #neetpreparation #neetaspirants #phd #research #biologyresearch #solutesandsolvents

🚫🧬 “Hold up — you’re too big to pass!” – said every semipermeable membrane ever 😎 A semipermeable membrane only allows certain molecules to cross — typically small, uncharged particles like water 💧, oxygen, and CO₂. ⚡ But it blocks larger molecules or ions, like proteins, glucose, and charged solutes, unless there’s a channel or transporter to help them through. This selective barrier is vital in the body: 🧠 In the blood–brain barrier, it protects neurons from toxins. 🩸 In the glomerulus, it prevents large proteins from leaking into urine. 💊 In cell membranes, it maintains electrolyte balance and homeostasis. A perfect bouncer — letting in the essentials, keeping out the chaos 🚷💪 #SemipermeableMembrane #Physiology #CellBiology #MedicalEducation #MedSchool #MedEd #MedicineReels #Osmosis #Diffusion #Nephrology #Homeostasis #Biochemistry

💡 Alors on teste ? #eaudemer #plasmamarin #santénaturelle #eaudequinton #solutes #électricité #courantelectrique
