@rast_group_official - Bana-Bana-Gəl Cover🤍 This cover is incredibly special to me because the soloist of the original, @lamiya.vocal.coach , was my very first vocal teacher. She was one of the first people who ever saw potential in me (which, at the time, trust me, was not easy to see). She was the one who pushed me to chase my dreams and even signed me up for my first ever stage performance, Zima, back in 2016 — the moment that truly kickstarted my singing journey and something I’ll always be grateful for. Lamiya Xanım, sizi çox sevirəm! The group @rast_group_official came in strong and revolutionized the Azerbaijani music scene with their fusion of Azerbaijani and European influences, along with touches of modern jazz. They introduced new sounds, changed people’s perception of jazz, and brought a fresh energy to the stage. To me, they’ve always been the ‘Maroon 5’ of Baku. I was lucky enough to join their practice sessions at the ripe age of 10 and witness how the group dynamic worked from the inside. The reason everyone adored them was simple: The love and energy they shared with one another. They were a family, and that little rehearsal room became my escape from reality, the place I couldn’t wait to return to every week. Bana-Bana Gəl (“Come To Me”) is a folk song with roots in both Azerbaijani and Turkish musical traditions. Over the years, it has been reimagined in many styles, from Aziza Mustafa Zadeh’s jazz mugham interpretation in 1995 to more contemporary versions.
