Sonic X Season 3 my beloved. Out of the Sonic Cartoons, it’s the one I’m most nostalgic for. Lmk below which you prefer! Also, summer of 2023 I rewatched Sonic X in Japanese, and I throughly enjoyed it. I thought people were kidding about it being a completely different show in jpn; however, they were not kidding. The jp version is SO much better. I’d say what makes it better than the English release is the sound mixing. I found that the English version had a lot of trouble with audio layering. The bg music would always be TOO loud, and the sound effects would overpower everything (cough cough, Rogue’s saxophone) While Ian Flynn is my favorite Sonic writer, I do disagree with his take on X. I know he thinks season3 is overly dark, I think it’s just as gritty as say, the metal virus arc. However, that isn’t to say I prefer one over the other. I love both the IDW and Sonic X canon! I don’t even dislike Chris, a mass fandom distain I never understood. He isn’t nearly as annoying as Charmy or Omochao. I think the biggest problem with him is taking the roles of Amy/Tails during the Sonic Adventure 1 + 2 arcs; however, I wouldn’t say that makes him a bad character. I liked what they did with his character in season 3. Ultimately, I enjoy Sonic X! I don’t think it’s the best Sonic media ever, but, I do feel super nostalgic for it!
