So I took the Sony A7 IV and 70-200mm f/2.8 out for a solo wander on Dartmoor, and from the moment I picked it up, I knew it was the right kit. You know that feeling when everything just clicks? It wasn’t too heavy, no fuss - it just let me get in the zone and start shooting. The bump in resolution with the A7 IV hit me out there. The 33MP sensor gave me the flexibility to frame my shot, then crop in later without losing that painterly, detailed look I love. And the 70-200mm! It’s perfect for working with distance and isolating your subject in a vast landscape. But honestly, one of my favourite features? The screen. It flips, tilts, and does whatever you need, which is a lifesaver when you’re crouched behind rocks or tucked away in bracken trying to line something up from low angles. And even with that flat, soft light, it stayed super clear. The extra brightness helped with filming some BTS too. Photos right out of camera may lack excitement and that is completely normal. RAW format keeps extensive visual data - color depth, highlight headroom, shadow nuance and tonal balance.
