✨ How to practice Spencerian ✨ When you are just learning a new script or want to refine it, there’s no better way than to use proper guidesheets! Learning how to practice with the right guidesheets made all the difference to my progress. I ended up creating my own Spencerian guidesheets as I struggled with the reverse oval shapes and the width of my letters. Now with the embedded ovals and thoughtfully placed slant lines and horizontal lines, I know exactly where to start and end my strokes 💪🏼 Here are 3 reverse oval Spencerian capitals, V, U, Y. 🔸 All these letters contain a reverse oval shape that is 1.75 units wide 🔸 Make sure to add a shade along the slant line 🔸 Letter V ends with a left curve stroke to the 1st ascender line & is 2.75 units wide 🔸 Letter U has two right curve strokes and is 3.75 units wide 🔸 Letter Y has a slight right curve as you pass the baseline and finishes with an extended left curve back to the waistline.
