Fractions feel hard… Until kids can actually see them. 👀 Most children don’t struggle with fractions. They struggle with how fractions are introduced. Numbers on a page. Rules to memorize. Steps to copy. But fractions are not rules. They are parts of something real. 🟡 When your child physically combines pieces… they start noticing patterns. Two fourths feels the same as one half. Three thirds makes a whole. They are discovering equivalence without anyone saying the word. 🧠 That’s the difference. Less memorizing. More understanding. If homework around fractions feels frustrating lately… try making it visible first. Comment MATH and I’ll send you our free math mini lessons + simple parent guides you can use at home ✨

Fractions don’t live on worksheets. They live in pizza slices, Lego towers, apple halves, and muddy chalk drawings on the driveway 🍕🧱🍎 When kids see fractions, their brains stop panicking and start clicking. Visuals turn “I don’t get it” into “WAIT… I see it.” That’s why I love using visuals to build real understanding instead of memorization. ✨ Want help with what to actually say while you’re teaching? I put together 10 things to say to your child to support fraction learning without frustration. 👉 Link in my bio. ✨ Want to work directly with me and make math finally feel doable in your home? 👉 Also linked in my bio. Save this reel for later and send it to a parent who’s tired of fraction tears 💛 #mathwithoutmeltdowns #homeschool #math #fyp #fractions

Making fractions easy and fun at home! 🌟 This hands-on matching puzzle introduces children to the concepts of one whole (1) and one half (1/2) through clear visual models and simple word representation. Instead of memorizing, children see and build the concept, helping them truly understand what fractions mean. A great early math activity that builds confidence and prepares kids for more advanced fraction learning later on. 👶 Recommended Age: 4–7 years 🏡 Perfect for: Homeschool, math centers, early finishers, and hands-on learners ✏️ Focus Skills: Understanding parts of a whole, visual discrimination, problem-solving, and early fraction vocabulary

Subtraction with regrouping becomes so much easier when children understand why we borrow. We always begin by comparing the ones place. Here, we look at 7 and 9. 7 is smaller than 9, so we cannot subtract - more on the floor (the bottom number), we go next door. We borrow 1 ten from the tens place. That 10 comes to the ones place and becomes 17. Since we already gave one ten away, 5 becomes 4. Now we subtract: 17 − 9 = 8 4 − 2 = 2 Answer → 28 ✔️ When regrouping is shown visually like this, children stop memorising steps and actually start understanding the concept. Save this for when you begin subtraction with regrouping at home ✏️ [subtraction with regrouping, 2 digit subtraction, borrowing method, regrouping explained, elementary math, primary math concepts, grade 2 math, math made easy, mental math skills, place value understanding, ones and tens, math for kids, homeschool math, early math learning, concept clarity in math, visual math learning, step by step math, math tricks for kids, parenting and learning, mindful parenting]

If you have a child in Pre K to Grade 2, you need a ten frame at home. Ten frames help children see numbers instead of memorizing them. 👉They build real number sense. 👉They show how numbers relate to 5 and 10. 👉They lay the foundation for addition, subtraction, and fact families. Before children work with equations, they need to understand quantity. How many. How close to 10. What makes a number bigger or smaller. Ten frames do exactly that. They help children stop counting one by one and start recognizing numbers as groups. That shift is a major turning point in early math. If you want access to our math resource library with tools for number sense, fact families, and early math thinking, comment MATH and we will send it to you 🤍 Save this for later and share it with a parent of a Pre K to Grade 2 learner.

If your preschool math is mostly counting and number tracing

If your preschool math is mostly counting and number tracing, we need to talk. 👇🏼 ⚠️Counting to 100 does not mean your child understands quantity. ⚠️Tracing numbers does not build number sense. And number sense is what predicts long-term math success. When I taught older students, the kids who struggled with multiplication, fractions, and problem-solving had one thing in common: ⚠️They never built quantity understanding early. They memorized. They didn’t internalize. In STEAM Made Simple Preschool, math is not worksheets. It’s: ✅filling five-frames on the floor ✅comparing real objects ✅building and measuring ✅predicting and testing ✅seeing numbers as amounts, not symbols Symbols come last. Meaning comes first. That’s why kids in this program don’t just “do math.” They understand it. If your child can count but freezes when asked “which is more?” that’s a foundation issue. And foundations are built in preschool. Comment “PRESCHOOL” if you’re ready to build it right.

Fractions made simple ✂️📄✨ We can all agree… this is one whole piece of paper. When you fold it in half, it’s still one whole, just split into 2 equal parts. That’s why we write 1/2 — it means one part out of two equal parts. Fold it again and you now have 4 equal parts. It’s still one whole piece of paper, just divided into quarters. So 1/4 means one part out of four equal parts. Here’s why this hands‑on method is so powerful: ✋ Children can see the whole and the parts at the same time The paper never stops being one piece, even when it’s folded. 🧠 It builds true understanding, not memorisation They realise fractions aren’t separate pieces floating around, but equal parts that together make one whole. #LearningThroughPlay #MathsMadeEasy #FractionsMadeEasy #MathsIsFun #VisualLearning
