Struggling with early mornings? That spring clock change might actually be your secret weapon for those tough 5am wake-ups 👀 Here’s how to make it work in your favour: ✨ Do nothing Honestly, this is often the easiest option. Let the clock change do the heavy lifting and see how your little one adjusts. ⏰ Go gradual If your baby loves a routine, start shifting bedtime, naps, and meals by 15 minutes each day in the lead-up. 🌙 Prep the night before Move bedtime about 30 minutes earlier the night before the clocks change to help them ease into it. ☀️ Try and get plenty of time outside on the Sunday to help their body clock adjust. Sometimes, that one-hour shift is all you need 🙌 #springforward #daylightsavings #babysleeptips #essexmums

Daylight Saving Time (DST) is a practice where clocks are adjusted forward by one hour during warmer months to extend evening daylight. This is typically done in spring and reversed in autumn to make better use of natural daylight and conserve energy.☀️🕰️ #fyp #daylightsavings #florida #daylightsavings2025

⏰Struggling with early wake-ups? The Spring clock change might just be your secret weapon! Here's how to make the spring forward transition work for you: ⭐If your child wakes too early but is getting enough sleep: 1. Don’t change bedtime or nap times before the time change. 2. On Sunday after the change, put your child to bed one hour later by the clock (7 PM becomes 8 PM). 3. Let them sleep in — don’t wake them up! 4. Move naps one hour later too. 5. Keep the room dark in the morning to block early light and get lots of sunlight in the evening. ⭐If your child wakes too early and needs more sleep: 1. Follow the same steps as above initially. 2. Gradually move bedtime earlier in 15-minute increments over several days to help them catch up on sleep. 3. If wake time shifts earlier, pause and move bedtime back slightly to find the sweet spot. Consistency and patience are key! Let the clock change do the hard work and enjoy those later mornings! The clock change is coming and if you’ve got a baby or toddl

The clock change is coming and if you’ve got a baby or toddler here’s exactly what I’d do… When the clocks spring forward in March, your baby’s body clock doesn’t automatically follow. What was 7am is now 6am to them. What was their 7pm bedtime suddenly feels like 6pm. For most families this resolves within a few days. But if your little one is sensitive to overtiredness or you’ve worked hard to get to sleep in a good place… a little preparation goes a long way. The good news is there are a few different ways to handle it depending on your baby’s temperament and how much time you have before the clocks change. There really is an approach for everyone. Comment DS below and I’ll send you the link to my full blog where I break down exactly what to do so you can choose the approach that works best for your family ⬇️

⏰ Spring Forward: How to Handle the Clock Change with Your Early Riser! 🌸☀️ Spring is here! That means warmer days, blooming flowers, and... the clocks going forward! This time, we lose an hour overnight. But if you’ve got an early riser, this might actually work in your favour - suddenly, that 5 AM wake-up is now 6 AM! 🎉 If that sounds like a win, you can totally do nothing and roll with the new time. Just keep in mind - they might not be as ready for bed at the usual time that night! 💡 Top tips for a smooth transition: ✅ Do nothing – If your little one is naturally up at the crack of dawn, this might be the easiest (and least confusing) option! ⏳ Split the difference – The night before, shift bedtime just half an hour earlier. This small tweak can help ease them into the change. 📆 Adjust gradually – If your baby thrives on routine, start shifting their bedtime, naps, and meals by 15 minutes each day leading up to the clock change. ⏳ Helping their body clock adjust: ☀️ Get outside for plenty of fresh air & natural light. 🍽 Shift mealtimes to match the new schedule. 🌙 Use blackout blinds if early morning light wakes them. 📱 Reduce screens & light in your home before bed to support melatonin production. 🛁 Keep bedtime routines predictable & relaxing. Remember they might not be ready for bed on time the next night so you a bit of wiggle room might be needed. And don’t forget to look after yourself too! A little planning can help you avoid feeling the impact of lost sleep. 😴 Within a week, everyone should be back on track. You’ve got this! 💪✨ Save this and tag a friend xx

The clocks go forward soon ⏰

And if you have an early riser

The clocks go forward soon ⏰ And if you have an early riser, this clock change might actually work in your favour. In the UK the clocks go forward on Sunday 29th March 2026, which means 1am becomes 2am. If your baby usually wakes around 5am, that may suddenly become closer to 6am by the clock, which for many families feels like a big win. The good news is you don’t need to overcomplicate this change. Most babies adjust within a few days. You can either gradually shift the schedule over a few days, or simply keep everything the same and let their body clock adjust naturally. This can also be a great opportunity to reset early mornings. Here’s a simple example for an early riser: ☀️ Pre-DST Bedtime: 7:00 PM Wake time: 5:00 AM Nap: 11:30 AM – 1:00 PM ☀️ Post-DST Bedtime: 8:00 PM Wake time: 6:00 AM Nap: 12:30 PM – 2:00 PM Then you can gradually move bedtime back to normal over a few days: Sunday (after the clock change): Bedtime 8:00 PM Monday & Tuesday: Bedtime 7:45 PM Wednesday: Bedtime 7:30 PM This gradual shift helps their body adjust while keeping that later morning wake-up. You don’t necessarily have to do anything though. Many babies adjust naturally within a few days if you simply keep the schedule the same. One thing to keep in mind is that evenings will stay lighter for longer, so good blackout in the bedroom and keeping things calm and dim before bed can really help. 📌Save this so you have it ready for the clock change. #clocksgoforward #springclockchange #earlyriser #earlyrising #sleepdeprived

12,385

Daylight Saving Time is the practice of moving clocks forward by one hour during the warmer months so we can make better use of natural daylight. In the United States, it starts on the second Sunday of March, when clocks “spring forward” by one hour at 2:00 AM, meaning we lose an hour of sleep but gain longer, brighter evenings. It ends on the first Sunday of November, when clocks “fall back” one hour and we regain that hour of sleep. The idea behind Daylight Saving Time is to shift daylight to the evening hours, which can help reduce energy use, encourage outdoor activities, and align daily schedules with daylight. While it might feel strange to suddenly change the clocks, it’s something many countries practice to make the most of daylight during the longer days of the year. ☀️ [life in the US , international student , student abroad , daylight savings ] #reels #fyp #explorepage✨ #daylightsavingstime #usa

Clocks spring forward on the 29th of March at 1am 🌱 and whilst we lose an hour in bed it is nice to be heading into spring with those lighter evenings ☀️ For me this is the easier clock change of the two: 👍I personally don't do anything to try and compensate or keep wake time the same and if you have early risers this will be your best option, as 5.30am will now become 6.30am HALLELUJAH However, if your little one loves routine, you want to try and keep their wake time the same and help them to adjust to the change gradually then you can choose to either... ⏰️put them to bed 30minutes earlier the night before (be mindful the last nap will need to end earlier than usual for this) ⏰️put them to bed 15minutes earlier each night from the 25th of March (also adjust their whole daytime routine and bring it 15mins earlier) Either way don't panic or overcomplicate things, all will be fine and work its self back out in a few days 😘 What will you be doing for this clock change? Let me know in the comments 👇
