Who’s ready to sew together some Pure Solids hourglass quilt blocks?! 🥰🧵Let’s make these super versatile and bright quilt blocks… the easy way. ⁠ ⁠ Here’s how:⁠ 1️⃣ Take two 5” squares of contrasting fabrics and place them right sides together.⁠ 2️⃣ Draw a diagonal line. Stitch ¼” away from both sides of the line.⁠ 3️⃣ Cut along the drawn line and press seams to the darker fabric.⁠ 4️⃣ Place the two resulting HSTs right sides together, ensuring contrasting colors touch and seams nest.⁠ 5️⃣ Draw another diagonal line and pin to hold in place.⁠ 6️⃣ Stitch ¼” away from both sides of the new line.⁠ 7️⃣ Cut along the drawn line, creating two hourglass blocks.⁠ 8️⃣ Press the seams to one side and trim to 4” squares.⁠ Finished quilt block size: 3½”⁠ ⁠ 📌SAVE this for later & SEND to a quilting friend who needs to try this quick trick! 💙⁠ ⁠ #ArtGalleryFabrics #SewingTutorial #SewingTips #QuiltingProject ⁠

Quilters, you NEED this technique in your repertoire! 🧵⁠ ⁠ Check out this Stroked Flying Geese tutorial! Adds some major texture and dimension with this modern take on the classic Flying Geese. It’s an easy way to upgrade projects like pillows or totes.⁠ ⁠ How to make four 5½” x 3” rectangles:⁠ - Four 4½” squares⁠ - Two 4½” x 2” rectangles⁠ - One 10” x 2” rectangle⁠ - Four 3⅜” squares⁠ ⁠ 1️⃣ Join two 4½” squares with a 4½” x 2” rectangle, repeat to make two strips.⁠ 2️⃣ Add one 10” x 2” rectangle between the strips.⁠ 3️⃣ Use a 6¼” square ruler as a guide, place in the center and trim.⁠ 4️⃣ Draw diagonal lines on four 3⅜” squares, sew ¼” away from both sides of the lines, cut, and press.⁠ 5️⃣ Place a 3⅜” square on each corner, repeat the diagonal stitching, cutting, and pressing steps.⁠ 6️⃣ Trim to 5½” x 3” rectangles.⁠ ⁠ Comment below if you’re giving this tutorial a try next time you’re at your sewing table! 💬⁠ ⁠ #ArtGalleryFabrics #AGFMineralFusion #SewingTips ⁠

Ever finish quilting a quilt… take it off the frame… and then think, maybe it needs just a little more? 😅 That’s exactly what happened with this quilt. I finished quilting all of the background, took the quilt off the frame, and even filmed the PNQ Academy video. But I kept thinking about those circles… because my original plan was to add quilting inside some of them. So… I reloaded the quilt onto the frame and added more quilting. And honestly? It was 100% worth it. The extra quilting gave the whole quilt more balance and texture. Sometimes the best thing you can do is trust your instincts and go back for a little more quilting.
