Brazilian and American CBRN: Working better together 🇧🇷🤝🇺🇲 The New York National Guard's 2nd and 24th Civil Support Teams (WMD) partnered with Brazilian soldiers from the 1st Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear Defense Battalion for Operation Maracanã, a combined training exercise hosted in Rio de Janeiro. The two countries worked together to respond to a simulated emergency at Maracanã Stadium, testing capabilities ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup through the Guard's State Partnership Program. On May 7, Ambassador Candace Bond and Adjutant General of Delaware National Guard Major General Michael Berry visited the community of Cedros to meet with local government representatives, educators, and NGO leaders working with the Venezuelan migrant community, among other stakeholders. Major General Berry was in Trinidad and Tobago as part of the joint aviation interoperability training with the Trinidad and Tobago Defense Force as part of the #StatePartnershipProgram.
