Every year ahead of Manannan’s return to service, the Steam Packet Company demonstrates a deployment and evacuation exercise involving one of the vessel’s Marine Evacuation System to the government Regulators. Passed with flying colours! Here is a video from the drill held this morning, which gave us a chance to test the system and also ensure crew training is up to date.

#AD This year, Isle of Man Steam Packet Company have launched an improved sailing timetable between Douglas and Belfast over the Spring period. From the moment you step onboard, the whole experience is relaxing and fun. The girls love being able to walk around and not be confined to one place.  There’s tables so we can play games, or you can read your book while the kids are on their electronics (there’s plug sockets  everywhere!) Younger kids can play in the play area and there’s a film showing on board too in the cinema. Choose from a selections of toys, snacks and gifts in the onboard shop  Head down to ‘the Eatery’ for great quality food, with locally sourced ingredients at great prices. The ‘Full Manx’ really sets you up for the day.  The gorgeous team at @iomsteampacketcompany booked us into the @holidayinnbelfastcitycentre. The Hotel was PERFECT! So easy to get to from the Ferry.  The location, the facilities were spot on (gym on site, safes and irons in every room) as well as the amazing staff (I’m looking at you Alice in particular, but all staff were lovely) The Holiday Inn really do have strong, family values. Not only do kids stay for free but with every adult meal paid for, a child eats free! The food is SO good! Pizza is available 24/7 too ! All kids are given a V.I.K pass and are allowed a treat each day from the on-site 24/7 Starbucks (either a hot choc, chocolate bar or crisps)  There was also a gorgeous Easter treat left for the girls in the room 😍 thank you!  After a busy few days it was lovely to treat ourselves to an upgrade to the Barrule Lounge on the ferry on the sailing home. Complimentary hot and cold drinks, magazines and newspapers and blankets on request. The improved Steam Packet Rebate Scheme for Marshals is back for 2026 🚢 Introduced last year, the scheme means marshals who complete 7 or more sessions at a single race event can claim up to £100 back on their @iomsteampacketcompany travel.
