Duncan McCabe, a 32-year-old software worker from Toronto, Canada, creates animated art using fitness tracking app Strava. His runs and bike rides form intricate designs when viewed on the app's map feature. + McCabe plans his routes meticulously using Google Earth and street maps. Each design requires multiple trips, sometimes covering 60 miles in a single day. His creations include a dinosaur, giraffe, raccoon, whale, narwhal and shark. + His most complex piece, a dancing stickman, involved completing around 120 runs in about 10 months. Strava Art Globe Animation for Earth Day This original 4 month project rapidly accelerated to about a week, with half the activities done over the last two days when I stupidly decided to complete it for Earth Day. 14 activities, 3.5km avg, 50km total.
