Calm classrooms aren’t built with loud voices… they’re built with quiet, intentional strategies 🤍 Sometimes the smallest shifts—like pausing, making eye contact, or using a simple countdown—can completely change the energy of your classroom. Control doesn’t come from fear. It comes from connection, consistency, and calm presence 🌿 Save this for those overwhelming days when nothing seems to work… and remember, less noise often creates more impact. #classroommanagement #teachersofinstagram #teacherlifeindia #primaryteachers #classroomtips

Teaching looks easy… If you make complex ideas feel simple, if learning feels lighter in your classroom, if students say “Oh, I get it now”… It’s challenging. It’s messy. It takes patience. So if today you’re doubting yourself, remember: making hard things feel easy is one of the clearest signs of mastery. This is one of your quiet success, teacher. 🤍 You are amazing! 📲: @jayshetty #teacherlife #teacherinspiration #educator #teachersofinstagram

Instead of calling out what’s going wrong, you intentionally name what’s going right: “I see this table ready in 3… pencils out and eyes up.” “Thank you for tracking the speaker.” “Front row is already on question one.” What happens next? Students adjust. Because you’ve made the expectation visible AND achievable. This isn’t just a strategy—it’s how you build a culture where students know what success looks like. Try it tomorrow and watch the shift. ✨ Want more systems that actually work in real classrooms? #TeacherTip Student protocols that are quick, easy, and effective ✨ ✨ Think, Pair, Share- Similar to its’ friend ‘turn and talk’ students will have a discussion with their neighboring partner or group. Instead of being asked and told to turn and talk right away, Think, Pair, Share has students take a quiet minute to think of what they are going to say first. This gives all students a chance to bring something to the conversation. ✨ Hand Up, Stand Up, Pair Up- Another way to find a partner, students stand up with their hand up, find a buddy, and put their hand down. It is a really nice visual way to see who does and does not have a buddy yet. This also works for if they do partner work after independent- the raised hand will show who is ready for what’s next! ✨ Back to Me in 3- My favorite call back to use- whether from a transition, group time, independent time, or partner talk. When you need the students attention simply announce: “Back to me in 3…. 2… 1….” This gives students time to finish their thought before returning whole group. ✨ Think, Notice, Wonder- When starting a new subject, put a problem, photo, or other artifact on the board. Ask students to make any observations and report them as what they are thinking, wondering, or noticing. This can be an independent journaling activity as a warm up, or a whole class or small group discussion to get our brains thinking. 3,880

For students who struggle with these skills, direct instruction is necessary to help them understand how and when to use them. 1. Use “think-alouds”: Narrate your own thought process when planning a lesson, solving a problem, or managing an emotion. This gives students a concrete example of how to apply these skills. 2. Practice with real scenarios: Use real-life situations to discuss problem-solving. For an older student example, discuss how a student could manage their time to study for a test and still attend a social event. 3. Encourage self-reflection: Periodically ask students to reflect on their own behaviors. For instance, “What was distracting you during that lesson, and how can you refocus next time?”. A lot of this work is SEL focused — so you can connect this instruction within any of your core instruction, during morning circle, or during 1-on-1 student conversations. #teacherlife #thesidesofteaching #dayinthelifeofateacher #teacher #teachersofig #teachersofinstagram #teachertips #executivefunctioning #classroommanagement
