these are 5 easy ways to actually enjoy studying (as much as you can haha): Change your environment → i stopped forcing myself to study in my room and started going to cafes, libraries, or even just different spots around campus. a fresh environment helps with your mindset + productivity so much more than you might think:) Make it social → study dates with friends are always such a fun idea/try and go to the library with friends! even if you’re working on different things, having company makes it so much more enjoyable (and you’re less likely to give up). Reward system → after every study session i do something nice for myself - grab a coffee, watch an episode, go for a walk. having something to look forward to makes starting so much easier + rewards your brain after working hard so then you will be more likely to want to study the next time:) Good music/ambience - having good music that helps you lock in makes such a difference!! i love noise-cancelling headphones too. Some study methods for you guys💓 sorry I haven’t been posting much, doing my usual social media detox before exam starts! If you struggle with focusing or finding motivation just before exams, I recommend doing a full day or week of social media detox, just don’t use your phone, focus on other stuff like hobbies if you don’t want to study, although I recommend studying every day even if its for a few minutes. I used to think getting an A+ meant forcing myself to study for hours 📚 Sitting there, fighting distractions, blaming myself every time I reached for my phone… 📱 But the truth is— my brain wasn’t lazy. it just didn’t like how I was studying 🧠 So I stopped chasing discipline… and started redesigning my habits instead ✨ Here’s what changed everything: 1. urge surfing 🌊 when I feel like scrolling, I don’t fight it anymore. I just wait for 2 minutes ⏳ and almost every time… the craving fades on its own. focus comes back quietly. 2. dopamine stacking 🍵🎧 I started pairing studying with small things I enjoy— a warm drink, my favorite song, a little stretch break. my brain slowly learned: studying ≠ pain studying = comfort 🤍 3. visual progress cues ✅ I stopped tracking hours. instead, I track wins. crossing off one question, one page, one flashcard… those tiny victories? they feel so much better than mindless scrolling ✨ 4. habit bundling 🔗 I attach studying to something I already do daily. after coffee = study ☕ after shower = review notes 🚿no thinking, no debating… just flow. 5. environment priming 🕯️ same spot, same playlist, same setup. eventually, my brain doesn’t need motivation anymore. it just knows: “we study here.” and that’s when it shifted— studying stopped feeling like something I had to do… it became something I naturally returned to 🌙 not obsession from pressure. but attachment from design.
