Jesus healed on the Sabbath and taught that rules that harm our vulnerable neighbors are not rules that should be followed. Paul immediately followed Romans 13:1-7 with “Love never hurts a neighbor, so loving is obeying all the law.” The midwives in Exodus disobeyed Pharaoh to protect children. Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednago were thrown in the furnace for refusing to follow King Nebuchadnezzar’s decrees. Open your eyes. We have never needed to stand this firmly in our faith as we do right now. The world is loud. Confusing. Constantly redefining what is good and what is true. But truth has never changed. God has never changed. This is not the time to stay silent. This is not the time to water down conviction. Truth doesn’t trend. If morality shifts with culture, then good and evil are just polls. Scripture presents something different: God’s law flows from who He is. And God does not evolve. The Church teaches moral truth isn’t invented by society. It is discovered — because it’s rooted in God’s nature. Cultures change. Empires fall. Preferences shift. But justice doesn’t become injustice because it’s unpopular. And sin doesn’t become virtue because it’s normalized. The Catechism speaks of moral law as participation in God’s wisdom. John Paul II warned that when truth bends to culture, freedom collapses. If right and wrong are flexible, conscience becomes confusion. Catholic teaching insists: Love is timeless. Human dignity is constant. God’s holiness doesn’t adjust to the century. Truth isn’t rigid. It’s reliable. And reliability is mercy. If this clarified the Catholic perspective, like and share. Strength is not brutality. And meekness is not weakness. Jesus was not passive — but He was never reactionary. The Church is not called to be fragile, nor is it called to be feral. We are called to be grounded, disciplined, and submitted to Christ. When fear drives our responses, we stop looking like the Kingdom. When pride drives our responses, we stop sounding like Christ. When anger becomes our identity, we hand our witness away. Yes — the Church must be strong. But strength without the Spirit becomes flesh. And flesh always overreaches. The world doesn’t need Christians who swing first. It needs Christians who stand firm, speak truth, and refuse to be moved. Not Mother Teresa softness. Not Vlad brutality.
