A few people have asked what I thought about Raygun’s performance at the Olympics, so here it is. Breaking is a “sport” where the outcome is judged subjectively. It’s kind of like judging music where many gernes can enter. Given this system, there are often results that don’t align with the public’s perception of who won. Politics and personal preferences play a huge role. I’ve been to many events where performances like hers are favored over elite demonstrations of athleticism and control. It really comes down to who is chosen to judge the event, and how they feel on that particular day. This has always been a part of breaking and has some positives. It allows for freedom, diversity, and awesome new movements… but I also think it’s an insurmountable barrier to mainstream adoption. It’s really frustrating to have a public consensus that somebody won and the judges say otherwise. This happens very very often. Due to the subjective nature of results, I was surprised it was included in the Olympics and unsuprised it was discontinued. Perhaps making powermoving as an Olympic sport with a clearer scoring system would make more sense. For those criticizing her selection for the Olympics, consider that you should be attacking the judging system that made it happen rather than the individual.

Do Ghosts exist? Objectively? No. Subjectively? A 100% yes. Fear makes the brain hallucinate. The more you are afraid, the more your brain will distort reality Ghosts are a manifestation of that reality distortion. Which is why Ghosts are associated with experiences already liked with fear - like cemeteries, death, darkness etc. In that sense, fear is one of the strongest psychedelic.
