Casual tailoring is a lost art, but it is extremely possible and extremely good. Get some jeans, or corduroys, or chinos that will work with your favorite *sneaker* sneakers. Chucks, 990s, Salomon's... Not the recently invented minimal leather sneakers, especially not if you've chosen them because they're "dressy." There's no tradition behind your common projects, and their stark white creates harsh contrast--they are not dressy sneakers, and they only have character if you beat them up. Then, put on a casual shirt--even a tee shirt can work, if you can style it well--and a sport jacket. Brown checked jackets are the easy answer. A navy blazer can work too. This can work, precisely because it's not a confused attempt at formality. You've captured the freedom of casual style, freed yourself of the orthodoxy of tailoring, and forged your own aesthetic.
