Lorsque Renault dévoile la Supercinq en 1984, l’objectif est clair : moderniser la R5 tout en s’adaptant aux nouvelles attentes du marché. Plus spacieuse, plus aérodynamique et dotée d’une conception plus rationnelle, elle incarne une citadine polyvalente, pensée pour une nouvelle génération d’automobilistes. Avec son design et sa silhouette plus affirmée, elle marque une transition importante pour Renault, qui mise sur une image à la fois moderne et accessible.

Pour accompagner ce lancement, Publicis tranche avec les codes traditionnels des spots automobiles. Plutôt qu’un simple film de démonstration, Renault mise sur une mise en scène futuriste, où la Supercinq devient bien plus qu’un véhicule : une icône de son époque. Le spot repose sur une esthétique ultra-maîtrisée, empruntant aux codes du design industriel des années 80. La voiture évolue dans des décors stylisés, où l’éclairage sculptural et les reflets métalliques renforcent son caractère avant-gardiste. Les angles de caméra accentuent sa compacité et son dynamisme, tandis que le montage rapide donne une impression de fluidité et de modernité.

 L’inspiration du mouvement Memphis Milano se ressent dans la direction artistique, notamment à travers les formes géométriques et l’utilisation de couleurs franches qui contrastent avec les arrière-plans plus minimalistes. Tout est pensé pour sublimer la Supercinq, lui offrant une aura de modernité qui dépasse sa simple fonction de citadine. It is a little bigger than Earth having oceans five hundred times deeper. It also got a very thick atmosphere potentially stopping aateroids from reaching the surface.
