INSANE Video of Massive Supercell Storm! 🛸🤯 Incredible capture by @gwenaelhagen 👉 go give him a follow! Thanks for letting me share, Gwenael! 📍 San Jose, New Mexico #Mothership #Timelapse #Aliens #HolyMoly

Ever see a storm like this? A structured supercell like this is one of the most beautiful natural phenomena on the planet. While these storms can produce tornadoes, higher-based supercells with tall, slender updrafts are typically weaker, with their main threat being hail. Even so, they’re absolutely stunning to photograph. We tracked this storm for hours as it evolved into an incredible shape, even managing to get a drone in the air to capture sweeping panoramic views—which I’ll be sharing soon. #supercell #storm #stormchasing #weather #texas

Supercell thunderstorm in Qatar👀 Qatar has a hot desert climate, which means that rain and thunderstorms are quite rare compared to many other regions of the world. Most of the year is dominated by dry, sunny weather with very little precipitation. In fact, the country receives only about 70–75 mm of rainfall annually, and most of it falls during the winter months. Thunderstorms in Qatar do occur, but they are infrequent and usually happen during specific periods of the year. The main season for thunderstorms is between late autumn and spring, especially from November to May. During this time, short but intense storms can develop, often bringing heavy rain, strong winds, and lightning. These storms are typically brief and do not last long. One particular weather phenomenon called “Al Sarayat,” which occurs in spring, is known for sudden thunderstorms and unstable weather conditions. However, even during this period, thunderstorms are not very common and may only happen a few times per year. Overall, the weather in Qatar is characterized by extremely hot summers and mild winters. In summer, temperatures can rise above 40–45°C, combined with high humidity along the coast, making conditions very intense. STOP DRIVING! #Nebraska supercells are no joke. This behemoth produced a couple rain wrapped tornadoes and loads of hail almost to softball size! I bolted out of the core and watched the insane structure form outside the cage! #Tornado #supercell #storm #June #ig_Stormchasers #hail #Nature

Timelapse of a rare sunset mothership supercell paired with INCREDIBLE colors and stacked plate structure north of Nara Visa, NM on June 7th, 2025. Nenah and I jumped out multiple times to grab a variety of different shots. This is probably the best 360 cam footage we’ve gotten to this date and I hope you like it!! #insta360x5 #nmwx #stormseason #newmexico #tornadoalley #timelapse #stormtimelapse #supercell #mothership #extremeweather #stormchasers

I intercepted this cyclic supercell on my flight from IAH to OKC at 8:40pm just east of Jacksboro, TX. This beast of a storm is still going and has produced several tornadoes. Wow. I guess that’s one thing off my bucket list!! #txwx #supercell #tornadowarning #stormchasing

*THIS IS NOT AI* Yesterday I witnessed what was probably the most incredible tornado intercept I’ll ever have in my life. Words can’t describe the awesome power and experience this truly was 🤯 📍Clear Lake, SD Special shoutout to @paigevincent for her extensive and amazing storm chasing knowledge which brought us to this location in the first place! She was able to successfully forecast nearly 20 tornadoes for us across the country this season, and I was lucky enough to tag alongside! Lp supercell in Oklahoma 👀 A low-precipitation (LP) supercell is a special type of supercell thunderstorm that forms in relatively dry atmospheric conditions and produces only a small amount of rain. Supercells in general are powerful, long-lasting thunderstorms characterized by a rotating updraft called a mesocyclone, which allows them to persist for hours and often generate severe weather such as large hail, strong winds, and sometimes tornadoes. An LP supercell differs from other types because it contains very little visible precipitation. Instead of heavy rain, it typically produces only isolated but often very large hailstones. This happens because the dry environment limits the number of raindrops in the storm, allowing small supercooled water droplets to attach to growing hailstones, making them larger over time. Visually, LP supercells are often easier to recognize than other supercells because their structure is not hidden by rain. They usually appear slim, well-defined, and sometimes bell-shaped, with a clearly visible rotating updraft. These storms are often found in regions with lower humidity, such as semi-arid plains. Although they produce less rain, LP supercells can still be dangerous. They are capable of producing large hail and occasionally tornadoes, and their clear structure can make them especially striking to observe. Overall, an LP supercell is a drier, more visually distinct version of a supercell thunderstorm, combining strong rotation with minimal precipitation.
