🥩 The tacos are out and the T-bones are in. Superica at 1801 N. Shepherd Dr. closed Feb. 15 after eight years in the Heights and will reopen Feb. 26 as Star Rover, a steakhouse concept from Ford Fry and Rocket Farm Restaurants. The new menu will lean into filets, ribeyes, skirt and T-bone steaks with surf-and-turf options, while still keeping Superica’s fluffy hot cakes with house buttermilk syrup for brunch. For those unfamiliar, Taquería de Diez is a highly acclaimed speakeasy taqueria founded in downtown Austin in early 2024. Since opening, their Tijuana inspired tacos have received high praise and many accolades, including being named one of the Best New Restaurants in Austin in 2024 by @austin_monthly.
