I believe in perseverance. And I’m grateful to my younger self for learning that early, when things were tight, when doors didn’t open easily, when I had to build with what I had. You don’t fold. You get to work. The wrap up… We are officially 50 days away from the Dinner at Dusk Polo Classic and it’s all gas, no brakes. 🐎✨ This year we’re bringing the energy to the beautiful Chastain Horse Park in Buckhead, and I cannot wait to be in the room surrounded by Black Excellence personified …leaders, builders, creators, visionaries. YESTERDAY, I had the honour of attending the largest working women’s conference in the South-South . THE RECAP CONFERENCE. Powered by The Business Women Connect and held at the beautiful Brown Hill Event Center, this gathering was everything it promised and more. It was a room full of brilliance, strategy, and truth, where women were challenged to Reflect, Relearn, and Rise with Questions that made you pause, think, and stretch. We were richly taught and inspired by an extraordinary lineup of women, including my mentor, the phenomenal Dr. Mrs. Ibukun Awosika and Tara Fela-Durotoye as keynote speakers. @Tarafeladuro The presence of Her Majesty, Olori Atuwatse III, the Queen of the Warri Kingdom, as a special guest added such grace and depth to the experience, alongside many incredible speakers and panelists who poured generously. Beyond the sessions, the sisterhood was powerful. It was great meeting my sisters Bar. Elohor Vivian Smooth, Mrs. Nora, and so many others. Thank you Misan Steven for the video. When I look back at this journey, my heart is filled with gratitude and awe. Over 6,000 women applied for the Flourish Africa Cohort 4 Business Investment Training. From that number, 506 were shortlisted, 200 advanced to submit grant pitch videos, and finally, 100 women emerged as awardees. By God’s grace, yours truly made the Top 100 🙌 Is God not amazing? This is not just a number or a certificate—it is a testimony. It represents long nights, consistent learning, resilience, faith, and the courage to show up even when the odds were high. This marks our first business grant, and it means more than I can put into words. I am deeply grateful to Flourish Africa for creating a platform that truly supports women-led businesses, and to the amazing and ever-energetic Temidayo Ogunleke and the entire team for the structure, guidance, and excellence throughout this journey. To my beloved husband, my children, and my family, thank you for your unwavering love, prayers, and timeless support. You are my backbone. And to everyone who supported, encouraged, prayed, mentored, corrected, or believed in us whether directly or indirectly—this win is ours.
