Wealth inequality in the US is reaching alarming heights. A recent study reveals that the top 0.1% now owns as much as the bottom 90%. Over the last three decades, the richest fraction's share of household wealth skyrocketed from 7% to 22%. Meanwhile, the majority grapple with rising debt and stagnant wages, leading to wealth erosion. The bottom 90%'s share plummeted from 36% in the mid-80s to a mere 23% in 2012. Engineered global poverty is the world’s hidden truth. Many nations labeled “poor” are rich in natural resources, land, and labor, yet their wealth has been systematically extracted rather than used to develop local economies. Through colonial history and modern political economy, foreign powers turned these resource-rich regions into supply zones for profit, stripping timber, minerals, crops, and labor while blocking local economic development. Wealth flows upward, keeping elites rich while leaving the majority dependent and impoverished. Political and corporate elites built power structures that control trade, governments, and resources. Historical examples like the Congo’s rubber and mineral plunder and Latin America’s foreign-controlled oil and copper show how resource extraction, capitalist expansion, and economic control created lasting systemic inequality. By controlling debt, trade, and governance, elites ensure the rich stay rich and the poor remain poor. These nations are not underdeveloped — they are over-exploited, and global poverty was deliberately engineered to serve those in power.
