Tactical Thursday - Tab 8 Miles TOTAL - Save the session for later! Level 1 - Carrying 7kg weight Level 2 - Carrying 15Kg weight Session detail: Tab 4 Miles at 14 Min/Miles 
Every 5 Minutes Run at 80% effort for 2 Minutes Take a 1 minute water break every 2 Miles The second 4 Miles will be @15 Min/Miles It will look like this: Start off @14 Minute miles, at every 5 Minute mark, run @80% for 2 Minutes then settle back into the 14 min mile pace. The second 4 Miles you Tab at 15 Minute Miles ensuring you still have the 2 minutes @80% effort every 5 Minutes throughout the whole 8 miles. 
DONT FORGET YOUR WATER BREAKS *We are looking for strong intent with the running segments, keep a consistent pace, don’t go too hard that you can’t maintain the same pace. When you break back into the Tab, recover your breathing as best as you can whilst maintaining the targeted pacing. Any questions on this session, drop me a message! 4-1 (4 Miles work, 1 mile cool down) Pick a level:
Level 1 - 7kg Weight 
Level 2 - 15kg Weight Tab 4 Miles @14 Min/Miles walking pace 
Every 5 minutes Run @80% effort for 2 mins 
Slow 1 mile Walk/Cooldown after 4 miles are complete Add water breaks where needed (no more than 2 x 60s stops) *When we say walking pace it means no runnning, so on the 14 Minute miles try walking as fast as possible to stick to the prescribed pace. *We are looking for strong intent with the running segments, keep a consistent pace, don’t go too hard that you can’t maintain the same pace. @theparas10 Yesterday was a lot of fun! What started off as us @forcefitnessofficial sponsoring the event ended up in me deciding to have a go at it! I got back from a month in Spain less than 48 hours before the event so training had been minimal and in honesty I massivly underestimated the event itself! 10 miles in under 1:50 with a 35lb backpack in boots didn’t sound that hard. I’m fairly fit so figured “how hard can it be” I’m told this is the official times for a Paratrooper selection pass time. Well, it was hard! when I got there my pack was actually 41lb not 35lb. School boy error! Plus I hadn’t given much thought to the fact there wasn’t a single flat mile! I should have known better being the paratroopers selection course but it was tough! Hill after Hill after Hill some being very very steep and 3 water crossings! I finished in just over 1:55 so 5 minutes over what I wanted but with some focused training sub 1:50 next time is very achievable. That being said, remember this is just 1 part of selection these guys would go on to do a whole lot more during test week. If you want to see real fitness. Look to the military. Not Instagram. I have a new found respect for just how fit these guys are! Some of the times on the day where close to 1:20. Perfect the Run/shuffle/jog/walk when running with weight and you will crack any test. If you master the shuffle when carrying weight you will knock minutes of any 2,3,5,10 or 20 miler. TRY THIS: Something that has worked for me over the last 10 years is the run, shuffle, walk method. How I tab my books✍🏽 When I read a book I know I’m going to tab, I’ll usually underline or annotate using a pen or pencil. At this stage I won’t be using any colour of highlighters or tabs. How i decide if I’m going to tab a book reaaaaally depends on the book. Some times I’ve started a book and within like 10 pages i adore it and already found something i want to annotate and then just decide this one will be tabbed. Other times I will sort of know based of my history with that author or series whether I’m going to like it. There have been occasions where I’ve finished a book and WISH i tabbed it because I loved it so much - examples are Conversations with Friends and The Favourites. But there have also been times where i thought i was going to adore a book, started tabbing and then literally DNFed it - examples are Invisible Women and The Island of the Missing Trees. When do I tab the books you may ask? Well, when i finish a book, if i have annotated or underlined things, I’ll add it to my evergrowing tabbing backlog. Whenever I have time I’ll go and tab it. The obviously takes longer than just tabbing as I go, but i always love going back and re-reading the things I’ve underlined. And tbh it doesnt even take that long. Now, sometimes I annotate or underline things and then when I go to tab them through, I don’t end up tabbing it, and again, this reaaaaally just depends on the book and the quote, I don’t have a fixed system lel. Heir of Fire is one in a series that I have tabbed previous books before, so i kindof knew I’d be tabbing. I had a total of 16 tabs in this book.

It’s safe to say you’ve all influenced me again. But this time to tab some of my favourite reads. It’s started with tabbing my books club reads (@reading.adventures.with.rach ) and now it’s grown from there I am a tabbing machine. Matching them to the covers has become my favourite thing to do. I love it even more than matching my bookmarks to my book. Hehehe.
