ELEVATED HOSTING • welcome back to elevated hosting where I’m using the same pieces but telling a whole new story. from the very first time i decided i wanted to add risers to my hosting collection, i purchased these and they’ve been holding on strong for years! the pipe and drape i only own in brown because of an event i had in our home and used these for an actual backdrop and now it’s being repurposed as table covers! this layered tablescape is balanced with both height + movement. using pipe and drape fabric is more budget friendly, needs no ironing, and lays so beautifully. just grab your risers or anything for height to hold the dishes, place those down first, and layer the drapes over it. pinch and tuck into the corners for the pleated look + to also hold down the risers better. add your dishes on top and that’s it! This is a very common scenario that I’m sure many vendors have experienced on multiple+ times, where customers are just unhappy with the quotes provided, so they look for other cheaper alternatives. When considering booking a service, also consider the following: • Time taken to discuss, book, prepare and organise your event. Small business owners have to do all the work themself, we don’t have admin staff or PA to do that for us. • Personalised services, you want a particular service, menu, arrangement, colour, theme, yet you think this should be included free of charge within the price? • Ingredient costs and the time it takes to prepare your order. I don’t know about other vendors but all my catering / savouries & desserts are freshly prepared by myself within 24 hours of your order, sometimes clients choose multiple treats off a menu, which take time to prepare, in addition to the washing up and cleaning I have to do after. • Prop Hire charge and set up charge, this does not come as a free complimentary service. There will always be a charge for this. I’m shocked at how some customers feel they are entitled to a free setup 😳 • Fuel & Travel Charge, you can’t expect your services to be delivered free of charge, only because you’ve booked a service with the vendor. The list goes on, customers should be mindful when enquiring about a service, and have a realistic budget in mind. One of my unspoken challenges with table setups… Guests don’t want to scatter it 😭😂 I once overheard someone say, “I don’t want to be the first to scatter this beautiful setup.” I said ahhhh 😩🤣 Sometimes the table is still untouched at takedown time because everyone is just admiring. Good problem to have… but please, eat 😅✨
