the theory is simple: instead of living your life like a recruiter—always trying to “sell” your beliefs, win the argument, or drag people into a pew—you live your life like a host. you keep your “table” set with kindness, boundaries, and peace. it’s an open invitation that never expires. the open table theory takes the pressure off you to be the “closer.” it reminds you that your job isn’t to force anyone to sit down; your job is simply to keep the table ready. no one tells you this part. no one tells you that you don’t have to have every answer or be a walking apologetics textbook to be a good friend. no one tells you that your peace is allowed to exist even if no one else joins you at the table. how exhausting it is to constantly feel like you’re “failing” if your friends don’t believe what you believe. how heavy it feels to carry the weight of someone else’s soul when that was never yours to carry. but here’s what the open table theory teaches: connection doesn’t happen in the debate. it happens in the space where people feel safe enough to be seen. it’s the quiet room, the shared meal, the moment someone feels the warmth of your life and finally feels comfortable enough to ask, “why are you like this?” it’s dismantling the version of you who is a “salesperson” so you can become the version of you who is a sanctuary. so if you’re tired of the “christian pressure”—if you’re weary of the performance or the constant need to prove your worth through your witness—i hope you remember this: your life is the invitation. your character is the meal. the table stays set regardless of who shows up, because your peace isn’t dependent on their response. it’s about being a friend first and letting the rest take care of itself. the light is on. the chairs are pulled out. follow to learn how to keep the table open together #fyp #christiangirl #explorepage #christianity #theory
