Tans are a sign of dna damage... at any capacity. Seeing someone go from so fair to so dark in such a short timeframe is concerning. The Canadian Cancer Society has continuously documented an increase in non-melanoma skin cancers (NMSC) and melanoma... How to get the perfect holiday tan…☀️ And no, it doesn’t involve baking in the sun for hours 👀 So in an effort to really perfect my ‘sunless’ tan this holiday these are the steps I took… ☀️ NO fake tan for 2-3 weeks before hols. Yes I put myself on a ban to give myself the perfect clean canvas. I don’t wear fake tan all the time but I probably would have as it’s now summer, but as my skin is dry there’s always old patches that linger forever! ☀️ I exfoliated like MAD! Using products like @naturiumskin KP Scrub & Mask and @katesomervilleskincare ExfoliKate Body Scrub in the shower. AND using a chemical exfoliant like @pixibeauty Glow Tonic on a tanning mitt and applied head to toe! Really helped to get rid of any old tan, and freshen my skin up. ☀️ As well as exfoliating, I made sure my skin was moisturised to the MAX!! Layering my fave body combo RN the @e45_uk Hydrating Lotion Spray and then the @byoma Nourishing Body Oil gave me the softest skin! ☀️ I went for ULTRA DARK. So for the main event of tanning application I used @effntan in Ultra Dark. I used this overnight 48 hours before I went on holiday. I then topped up my arms and legs with a second application left on for a few hours the day before I flew. Always use a mitt starting from my legs upwards… Moisturiser on the elbows and knees. And using a tanning brush to blend over the feet and hands. ☀️ Whilst on holiday I used my all time fave @tan_luxe The Gradual as my daily body moisturiser. This helped to maintain the colour AND stop any crusty dry patches… ☀️ I LOVE an instant tan! So towards the end of my holiday I used my faithful @tanologisttan Instaglow for that perfect holiday glow it has a blurring like finish to it too so great of you have any imperfections on your legs you maybe don’t like… Yes it was a lot of effort, but I’ve been a sun-worshiper in the past… lying for hours in the sun! Now I can seek shade and relax, and faking it also means no tan lines! 👙
