I’m headed on a three hour road trip tomorrow with my girls, and I’m packing their activity bags, which I’m pretty sure at max capacity with all these goods: •The bags - I hang these on the garment hooks next to them, and they can access everything easily and independently ✅✅🙌🏼 •Sight word cards/word with picture cards + reader •Fresh mini sketch book, crayons (not fresh, but 🤷🏻‍♀️), and stickers •LCD drawing pad, pop it, fidget sticks (just got this in - I think they’ll like them!) •Magnetic blocks (each kid got a set for Christmas, and they still aren’t tired of them!) Toddler Busy Bag! 🧚🏼‍♀️ We’re going on a family road trip vacation soon, the longest one we have taken with our nearly 3 year old. I started collecting things for a “busy bag” for the car ride, restaurants, any idle time we need some extra entertainment! A mix of interactive toys, imaginative play, sensory items, educational books relating to our destination, & coloring/drawing. I did a combination of new & exciting books/toys, and shopping the house for items we already owned. For things we already had, I hid them a month+ in advance, because all mamas know randomly pulling out a toy they have totally forgotten about is just as exciting as something brand new 👌🏻 Some of the things I’ve included in our Busy Bag so far are: •an interactive fairy book that includes a pop up fairy world • fidget sensory stick, pop-it, magnet men •mini magnatiles, mini building blocks •jumbo coloring books, tracing book, jumbo crayons & ultra washable markers • educational & interactive books about our destination •binoculars •seek & find/ scavenger hunt flip book •fairy sticker book •drawing pad •waterproof art smock that can double as a bib for meals too! Travel Essentials Finally we planned a holiday far enough in advance that I was able to make these fun travel essential bags for our long journey! From start to finish they include: a wipeable laminated road map of our journey, a dry erase marker, tissues for wiping the maps, a tiny tube of bubbles, a fidget toy, hand gel and wipes, tissues and lip balm, travel sickness bags and wrist bands (which were brilliant fyi!), a travel journal with stickers, tape, pen and glue and of course snacks! I absolutely LOVED putting these together and my kids were thrilled to get in the car at 5.30am to discover them on the morning of our journey!
