Happy International Tasmanian Devil Day! 🌎💚 At Aussie Ark, we celebrate our beautiful Tasmanian Devils every day, but today is the day we can truly celebrate them on a global scale. To this date, Tasmanian Devils are classified as endangered. Once widespread across mainland Australia, these incredible creatures are now only found in Tasmania and some Aussie Ark wild sanctuaries on the Australian mainland. Sadly, they are still facing significant threats to their survival due to Devil Facial Tumour Disease (DFTD) and their wild populations are drastically dwindling. But there us hope! Since 2010, our conservation breeding program has welcomed hundreds of Devil joeys into our Sanctuary, and the world, each one a step closer to securing the future of this incredible species. These joeys aren’t just surviving they’re thriving, and helping their species see a brighter tomorrow.
