Fallon gifted Colbert a personalized painting of him on a boat with his dog Benny, and then broke into song, performing his own version of "My Way" catered to Colbert's eleven-season run on the CBS late-night show. The funny lyrics talked about their friendship, praised Colbert as a gracious host, and even mentioned Donald Trump's role in the show ending, with Fallon singing "And now the end is near" as the lights went dim. By the end of the song, Fallon climbed up and stood on the desk alongside Colbert, and the two shared a warm moment together. The Late Show with Stephen Colbert is set to air its final episode on May 21, 2026, with CBS stating the cancellation was a purely financial decision.
