‼️The importance of court positioning ⬇️ Being in the right position depending on the circumstances is what will increase your chances to stay in control of the point. 🎾 DEFENSE This is the most challenging place to be. You are fighting to find time. ➡️ It is usually better to slow the ball down to get back to a neutral position. Note: you could also sometimes be on defense inside the court when your opponent brings you in. 🎾 CONTROL (neutral) You and your opponent are pretty even. ➡️ Your goal is to push your opponent to play a weaker shot so you get more in control of the point. 🎾 PRESSURE (offense) You’re getting control of the point but you’re still close to the baseline. ➡️ It’s a good time to push or stretch your opponent to really rush them and get them out of position. ❌ A common mistake is to try to finish the point from this area of the court. 🎾 ATTACK You’re in the transition zone and decide to come to the net. ➡️ Your main goal is to really rush your opponent. Winners can happen there but it should be the result of a great set up from the previous shot. 🎾 FINISH You’ve set up the point in your favor and just need to put away the last shot. ➡️ This takes away a lot of the risks. ‼️ The way your opponent responds to your shots will get you to certain zones. The goal is to always have time in each zone and take your opponent’s time away. ➡️ Standing in the wrong zone can greatly impact the quality of your next shot and give your opponent better control of the point. 📌 Position at the center of their potential angles, not the court’s center. 🎯 Attack: Hit Where They Struggle • Check their position and balance before striking. • If stable, open angles; if off balance, target the opposite side. 
📌 Hit where they aren’t or don’t want to go. 🔺 Key: Your Angle of Action 🎾 Closer to the net = wider angles. • At the net, create sharp angles. • At the baseline, focus on precision. • Moving forward cuts their reaction time. 📐 Summary 1. One of the most common patterns in pro tennis: 1️⃣ Hit through the middle to their backhand to push them back. 2️⃣ Then hit wide to their backhand to apply pressure. 3️⃣ Follow up by hitting to their forehand, using the space you’ve created to finish the point. 4️⃣ Make as many inside-out and inside-in forehands as you can to control the rally. My favourite way to deal with moonballs 🎾 🚀 Hit on the rise 🚀 Why? 1. I like to surprise opponents when they hit a moon ball. They’re hitting one in order to give themselves time and try to force you back. When you hit on the rise, they’re strategy isn’t effective 2. You can maintain an effective court position. Once you move back and let those moonballs drop, you lose a lot of court. The baseline is prime real estate in tennis. Hold onto it! 3. You rush the moonballer. They crave time, and you’re taking that valuable asset away from them. 4.
