POV: You’re a DPT student practicing special tests and accidentally get a positive Allen test on your friend 👀 The Allen Test assesses the radial and ulnar arteries. We hold both, have the patient repeatedly open/close their hand, then release one artery at a time to observe the return of circulation. When they pump their hand it turns white, and when the pt stops holding their artery, the color returns.
