Disclaimer: I grew up in the suburbs of Fort Worth, but I spent a lot of time in the city. When I was little it was the Fort Worth Zoo and the childrens museum. As I got older it was the Stockyards and I even worked there as a teenager. I am not a cowgirl, but I love our Western traditions and I am rock and roll at my core. These are the hills I will die on as someone who actually grew up here. 1. Fort Worth is a mix of so many cultures and that is one reason this city feels alive. Our strong Latin influence is beautiful and we have some of the best Mexican restaurants in the entire metroplex. If you want my favorites just ask. 2. The best place for lunch in Fort Worth is the Kimbell Art Museum. I cannot believe I am sharing this secret but the food is delicious and the environment is delightful. 3. Fort Worth has the friendliest people you will ever meet. Someone here will make you feel like family or show you real Southern hospitality and it is genuine. 4. The best restaurants in Fort Worth are not always the famous ones. I will choose Esperanza’s over Joe T. Garcia’s every time even though they came from the same family. And everyone talks about Terry Black’s Barbecue but if you go one street over to Angelo’s you will save money and you will not be disappointed. 5. Our suburbs have some of the best schools and athletics in Texas. If you want my full list of where people are moving comment the word “GUIDE”. Not all schools and not all suburbs are the same so what matters to you will guide the search. 6. Lastly, we are not Dallas. We are not the little sister of Dallas and we have no beef with Dallas. People here go to Dallas for fun and then come home to the quieter side of town. And nobody in Dallas thinks there is a rivalry lol. If you are new here I am Lesley. I think I am funny.
